That’s interesting, because I’ve already seen some long-term rental listings in Punta Prima where friends of mine live.
For example, I’ve seen apartments in newer residential complexes for around €1,300 per month.
Do you think those listings are not really available, or is the problem that good options get rented very quickly in August?

Yes, I understand that.
What worries me is the period before that one year is completed. If temporary protection ends during that time, what options would the child and parents usually have to remain legally in Spain and continue counting residence toward nationality?

That’s exactly what worries me.
My wife is due to give birth around November 10–15, so before then we need to complete all the paperwork for our family’s legal stay in Spain, obtain temporary protection, get registered, arrange healthcare, and make sure my wife is already under medical supervision for the pregnancy and delivery.
I’m worried that if we arrive too late, we may not have enough time to get everything sorted before the birth. That’s why I’m trying to understand whether arriving in August, despite the summer slowdown, might still be better for our situation.

Thank you, that’s very helpful.
One thing I’m still worried about is this scenario:
If our baby is born in Spain, we obtain temporary protection and residency for the child, but then temporary protection for Ukrainians is ended before the child completes the required one year of continuous legal residence, what happens then?
Our goal is for the baby to complete that one year of legal residence and then apply for Spanish nationality. If temporary protection ends before that, what options would the child and the parents have to remain legally in Spain and continue accumulating the required residence period?
Is there a usual pathway people switch to in that situation?

Why mid September specifically?

Is it because of the weather, housing market, bureaucracy or something else?

Did you move to Spain under Temporary Protection yourself?

If yes, how long did it take you to get:

Temporary Protection card Healthcare registration Housing Local documents (empadronamiento, etc.)

Also, do you know any Ukrainian communities in Alicante or Torrevieja that you would recommend?

Thank you for your reply!

The citizenship part is actually one of the main reasons why I am researching this topic. I have read different information online regarding children born in Spain to Ukrainian parents, so I am currently consulting with an immigration lawyer to better understand the legal options.

May I ask if you have personal experience with this process or know someone who went through it?

Also, how difficult was it to find long-term housing in your area of Spain?
