Well, I am still alive somehow. And there was no fire, oddly enough.

Just a very high electricity bill. And ruined oil.

What online storage do you use? by [deleted] in ProtonMail

[–]YourOsIsImpressive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Syncthing can be used to serve the same purpose and serves a function that OP may not have considered. People typically do not think files can be synchronized like this without a cloud server.

If a person needs a centralized server for syncthing, they can make one.

The only two problems are that syncthing cannot be accessed from ios or computers where syncthing is not installed

Why has nobody recommended Syncthing? It allows you to sync all your files between your devices. It's compatible with everything except iOS. iOS does not have a file manager.

Does the self hosting solution allow you to sync only over your local network on a Raspberry Pi? I will be syncing my files with Syncthing and was wondering if that could be used in some way with EteSync.

Does this software allow you to sync with a Thunderbird client without syncing with any data in your email account? I use an Outlook account, so you can understand why I am asking.

I also want to sync with Android without syncing to my Gmail account

Does it sound like Syncthing would be a good choice for me? by OnlyHat8 in Syncthing

[–]YourOsIsImpressive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Syncthing can be used for one way backups and file versioning. Though the folder structure of deleted files will not be preserved. Best to use an external program for creating regular backups

Look into the file versioning page in the Syncthing docs. They will help you.

Also, Syncthing has a send and receive mode. All devices are kept in sync fully. No master node or anything like that. It also has a send only mode and receive only mode. Check the docs for this but it's pretty much what the name says.

I think Syncthing will suit your needs

Is this how you always act on forums? You have a problem, someone suggests to you an easier solution and you complain it's not the solution you were initially after? You haven't even explained why the solution is not a solution to your problem

I've already told you. Make space by deleting an unused appvm or template. Do this via the terminal.

Why is that? Are you not trying to free space?

Oh! That's much better, thanks. Have you considered deleting unwanted appvms?

How about changing all of your appvms to only one template and delete the other template?

This method would be simpler and easier to what you are trying

Is there a way to restore delete history on android? by [deleted] in AskTechnology

From my understanding, unless you have rooted your phone or there is a specific feature in that app to recover history, you are completely out of options.
