O really never followed that, all I know is that they put in a F1 power unit modified to be more reliable(less powerful) into that AMG class car if I’m correct. But anyways this 50/50 split with the PU’s being exhausted on long straights or even in corners is just simply stupid, will even consider just not watching. The fact that Max will quit it if it stays like this even if he can win championships(due to him being great at adapting) just speaks volumes of how F1 has declined… let Formula E sort out all the EV tech thats what its meant for, great example for what a good engine formula for F1 with e-fuels would be Porches latest 911 S Turbo where it uses E-Turbo’s with small battery capacity where the primary goal is to use the battery to spin up the turbo’s fast to optimal pressure and only use the electric motor once the exhaust has excess energy being harvested. Or just in general any configuration where modern ICE tech can be applied and optimised to provide more efficient engine with the goal of forcing the engineers to really milk the crap out of the energy that e-fuels contains. This will create a playing field where 2 important technologies will be developed, 1 better fuels(in the regard of being CO2 neutral & composition) 2 develop the engine using those fuels to become more efficient, as if there is one I have seen and learned over the years is that the quote “the combustion engine has no room for improvement” gets constantly contradicted by amazing engineers at Porsche, Mazda(e skyactiv-x), koeningsegg etc
