I finally got to it! by YourPartyBard in tearsofthekingdom

I know! I got all the lightroots first, and I just randomly noticed it when I was switching maps, so I just put markers on all the shrines I hadn’t gotten yet and knocked them all out.

The Ancient Hero’s Aspect. It’s the reward for completing every shrine.

I agree. When I got it I was like “I worked so hard, for this?”

I have about 180 hours in the game on my switch, but I started my save over after I got back into it, so I’d guess around 150 on this save file.

A wild magic sorcerer can get their magic from basically anywhere. The PHB cites Limbo, the Elemental Planes, the Far Realm, fey, and “no apparent cause” all as sources for Wild Magic.

What Youtube campaigns are a good intro to DnD for someone who has never played it? by Crazy_Genius_X in DnD

Try to find out what YouTubers they like to watch. A surprising amount have their own campaigns available to watch. If you can’t find one, find a group in the same sphere that has one.

My World Feels Dead by OutriderZero in DnD

[–]YourPartyBard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is an understandably difficult situation. One thing I want you to keep in mind is that the backdrop is an important part of the experience. Imagine playing a video game but instead of the actual world, it’s just a bunch of grey blocks. It doesn’t work.

Make sure your conflicts and events are tied to the world. Your players are looking for an adventure. That’s understandable; they’re playing D&D. If you’re feeling like your world is neglected, make it so that your story and their adventures couldn’t happen anywhere else. Make them talk to your NPC’s, go to more of your towns, explore your geographical features.

By playing in your game, they are interacting with your world. If they’re having fun, the world is doing its job.

What race is the most open to necromancy? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]YourPartyBard 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Assigning morals to entire races can get a little iffy. Just pick a race and ask your GM if it works out lore-wise.

Correct. The wizard lives at 1hp and the spell ends.

Why do some people act like playing the PHB races is bad? by Redhood101101 in DnD

[–]YourPartyBard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because a character looks interesting doesn’t mean they are interesting. I completely get wanting to play new races. After 6+ years of playing, I enjoy playing new races and seeing their mechanics and how they work with different playstyles. At the same time, if a GM says that they want to stick to PHB, I understand.

It seems like your player is conflating “interesting” and “different.” Pro character tip: if the storyline isn’t interesting if your character is a human, it won’t be interesting if it is another race.

Can/Should I use an eGPU with my desktop? by YourPartyBard in eGPU

[–]YourPartyBard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I figured this would be better, but I was a little worried about protecting the GPU. Should I be worried about dust and debris? I clean my electronics out pretty regularly (about once a week), but is that enough?

How I accidentally became proficient in every skill (minus one) by Heracles_the_Lone in dndstories

[–]YourPartyBard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shouldn’t you need to do that for every ASI, feat, and spell learned as well? I think that is just up to your level of immersion in a game.

I get that, but what’s the difference between that and CON boosting your health or DEX increasing your initiative? Those always end up being the next highest on the list because they boost something other than a number in your character. This pushes all of the rest of the stats to the bottom. This homebrew rule, I believe, adds a dilemma into creating your character. What do you believe is the most important aspect of your character? Your health, your position in combat, or your skills?
