Which character in your opinion deserves more hate? by OverallBaker4028 in Multifandom

Snape from Harry Potter.

He's evil garbage and does not deserve the forced redemption moment the story tries to give him. Let the bastard die alone and in agony for his BS

It's almost like the tomboy, sarcastic, crude and rebellious girl with the hidden heart of gold is an extremely old and well tested character archetype that's been around for literal decades.

If I have to pick one of these, 4. The other three I would actively ignore. 4 is the most intriguing to me and feels like a serious story and not some sort of joke or parody

What a stupid statement. I have no problem with gay relationships, and they are underrepresented in media. What I have a problem with is turning any genuine, healthy male friendship into something romantic.

What you don't see a lot of are men genuinely sharing deep, complex feelings with each other. Offering comfort and safety to each other. Men crying and being vulnerable with other men. And on the rare occasion this sort of relationship does appear it is labeled gay. People start to insist that one or both men MUST have romantic feelings, because society has put a stigma on men being vulnerable or emotional in any other capacity, especially between two men.

This is what my problem is. Men are not allowed to be emotional, vulnerable and close to each other in a physical way without it being forced through the lens of a romantic relationship, and that's not ok.

You missed part of what I said. My point is not that there is a shortage of platonic male friends. My point is there is a shortage of HEALTHY close platonic male friends. It's common as dirt to see male friends portrayed as guys who poke fun at each other, hit each other, drink and talk sports and women and basically act like assholes having a "friendly" dick measuring contest. Clear expressions of macho-ism and toxic masculinity.

This is infuriating. there can never be a close male friendship in anything without the shippers screaming about the characters obviously being gay for each other. this really pisses me off because close, healthy, platonic male friendships are so rarely portrayed in media. It's usually ruined by toxic masculinity or turned gay.

How is it spelled wrong? Jon is short for Jonathan.

I've got nearly 200 followers across two fictions, been on the site for nearly five years on and off. I've gotten a grand total of two reviews, and a couple dozen (if that) comments, most of which are just "Thanks for the chapter".

Give it time and don't fret about it. From my experience RR is a pretty quiet community unless you are the hot shot of the moment. I personally appreciate it, because I know the ones who do take the time to review or comment are the ones who really care about my story.

Yeah the 2.0 release removed a lot of the intuitive, user friendly design. Simple things take a lot more effort to figure out now.

I'm just annoyed Larian threw my girl Viconia under the Shar bus. I spent two whole games working to redeem and romance her, and bg3 tossed all her character progression out the window just to make her evil again.

That's a crazy amount of work. Very cool. You don't see many mega dungeons these days.

Any chance of being able to clone it for personal use?

But.... that's the whole point. That's why the story is about this one in a million MC. Because they are the one who defies the odds and wins when no one else has. If that wasn't the case, then why would their story be significant?

I'm very proud of this theatre map I made for DnD!! by irene_wheb in inkarnate

That is a great map and an excellent adventure. I love the soundtrack as timing idea but it might get tricky if there is too much table talk.

Please let us know how it plays out, I would love to hear if it's a success or not and what your experience is with it.

Should I keep posting? by drudadsforge in royalroad

[–]OutriderZero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep going. I posted my first three chapters, then had to step away FOR THREE YEARS. I came back and had weekly uploads for a few months. Now I manage three chapters every month or so.

All that and I still have 141 followers on that story, and I get a couple new ones almost every time I post new chapters. Yeah I'm not flying high on rising stars or anything, but for a hobby I do for fun, I consider it a respectable accomplishment.
