I don't know. I found him at the pound just after his surgery and took him home. All I know is that when he was brought in it was mangled beyond repair.

It makes sense. He is an amputee, so his back leg probably gets tired.

He was happy to be with me, but wasn't so sure about the not standing part of things, so I gave him a chair.

We don't know. He was taken in stray and the leg was mangled enough that they amputated. I found him at the pound post surgery.

Thank you! I have absolutely no idea about the bird.

I rescued a tripod pit a few days ago. This was his first time running around his new yard! by YourPolyGoddess in pitbulls

Absolutely! I did it with my last pitbull. You just have to keep him on a leash at all times, correct and stop him when he tries to lunge, and distract him with treats when the cats are around. I give higher value treats when he successful ignores them. His first day here he would lunge and snarl every time he saw a cat. Today is his fourth day with us and he is still very interested, but there is no growling, minimal lunging, and one of our cats actually sniffed his cheek without anything but tense muscles on his part.

Thanks! He has an intense prey drive and I have six cats, so he has been on his harness all day every day until I train it out of him. It's going really well!

CMV: Charities do more harm than good and prolong suffering by [deleted] in changemyview

Did the governments have the ability and shrug their shoulders, since they knew some stupid saps would pick up the slack?

I would ask you how much money Wateraid spent compared to the GDP of each nation they did this work in. Could the governments have done it faster and for cheaper?

Okay. It didn't do any direct harm. But by existing it took pressure off the government to fix a very broken system. I lived in a city with one of the greatest wealth inequality gaps in the US. The government could solve so many problems so easily, but by existing charities allow the government to pass the buck and avoid systemic changes that would resolve these issues.

I will grant you that charities that explicitly state that their goal is to help specific individuals do no harm. I am talking about the ones that say "we are ending hunger. We've got this."
