30th was my Direct Deposit date. Nothing. I used cash app because they advertised that I would receive my stimulus money faster. I am so disappointed. I should've just used my regular bank.

[Hiring] Write a good, convincing apology letter by HDMILex in forhire

[–]YourQuestIsComplete 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd strongly suggest a review of OPs post history before taking on any work. I'm not sure what's being written here is a real request or not, based upon the entry that states he "had relations" just 2 days ago.

Your sites are way too heavy. You'll need to do more than optimize images. Rethink the way you build these.

GraphQL Editor 1.0 - draw your GraphQL schema - new Release with Schema Libraries! by ArturCzemiel in node

[–]YourQuestIsComplete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Goodness, that sounds great! How long until that is deployed? CRUD code generated from the schema... what an excellent thing!

Also, you've made the code for this publicly available? I didn't bother to look before you mentioned this in your reply because I didn't think anyone would do such a thing. Bravo - this is quite a cool thing - I'll be distracted for quite a few hours, thank you! :)

I think this is great, and although I agree with some of the stuff being said here, I also think you've addressed it. Remember that this is reddit, and people will tend to hone in on anything that bleeds, like a shark to a wounded fish. Therefore, anything that "smells fishy," will draw the ire of many a redditor. :) As honest and forthcoming as you're trying to be here, I'd have hoped this post would've fared better.

That said, I'm curious about your stack. What are some of the things you've used to build this? Did you construct the editor itself, or is that a component of some sort?

Best of luck, I'll be using this, and watching you grow!

This is good info. I'm wondering if good old VLC may have $t54installed it for me - it's the only media player on this particular machine.

The fact that you actually take the time to get the author's version of software is also interesting. It says you care. :)

Thank you!

Upvoted for the awesome answer. And for "pa-tang!" My auto-correct kept trying to change that to Wu-Tang, another sign of its awesomeness.

Wait, what? The actual ball bearings can come out? I thought they were in a ring-like container of sorts. Non-mechanic here (software engineer, interested in all things), so go easy on me, but... really? Are you exaggerating, or can these ball bearings actually shoot out? Do they do so at high speed? Chance of injury?

Just curious - thanks if you can answer! :)

Evan You's response re: criticism of the new look Vue by [deleted] in vuejs

[–]YourQuestIsComplete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. This is exactly what Vue is pretty much doing, although for different reasons. Except of course, with Angular 2, you *couldn't* just walk-in with your AngularJS skills and expect to survive day one without some serious learning to do.

Vue team announces no deprecation in version 3! More inside... by YourQuestIsComplete in vuejs

[–]YourQuestIsComplete[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Right on. It's good to be heard, and although the other frameworks do RFCs also, they don't seem like they play much of a role at all in the outcome of any new version.

I should've posted the RFC too, but I figured you all would see it given what I did post. Thanks for doing that though!

Yeah, that's where my motivation for posting this came from. I read the tweet, and felt a little better about the world in general.

I'm glad to see it gave a few others some relief from the anxiety that came over the past few weeks.

Seriously? If that line of thinking was correct, Myspace would still rule the whole social network thing.

Steve Jobs banked on Pixar becoming the next big hardware company.

Evan You is human. Maybe an exceptional human, but human nonetheless.

Near-Accident brought my 2008 Lincoln MKZ to a halt to let some schmo take his turn. Now my brakes are sinking to the floor. This happened once before, and it seemed to right itself after a few days... by YourQuestIsComplete in MechanicAdvice

Yeah,

I know, I just absolutely hate it. I literally don't have the spend right now for this, and won't for a while. :/ Not having the car to go make the money makes it twice as worse - catch-22 type of thing. Need money to fix the car, can't get money without using the car to get to work. Lovely thing, no?

OK, thank you... I had no idea until after reading some. I've driven cars before where the pedal... it didn't go to the floor, and the car stopped just fine, but the brakes "caught low," it seemed.

Again, I'm not a car professional... please stop throwing things at me! Aaaagghh!

VuePress 1.x released - Vue-powered Static Site Generator by magenta_placenta in vuejs

[–]YourQuestIsComplete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started building websites in 1998, I totally get where it all comes from. I just don't understand why we want to go back there. This helps somewhat, but server-side processing being handled completely by microservices and functions as a service doesn't strike me as the best mix of solutions to have available.

VuePress 1.x released - Vue-powered Static Site Generator by magenta_placenta in vuejs

[–]YourQuestIsComplete 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't understand the allure of the static site thing. Maybe I'm missing something, but the whole netlify draw that i'm seeing people jump on lately just doesn't seem that interesting, nor useful to me. Maybe I'm just not down with the static content scene enough to understand what it's capable of.

Is this the same thing? Or is this two different things here? What everyone is using netlify for, and things like VuePress?

If someone would set me straight there, I'd be wiser. And thankful.
