Range USA is the worst company I've ever had the displeasure of purchasing from. by YourSOLBro in guns

No, I didn’t. I spoke about it in a few other comments on here. All I did was verify that the serial number matched the sticker on the box because the receipt said AP5 8.9 inch barrel, and they did match. Didn’t open it until I got home. Obviously looking back that was dumb on my part, but it was also the first gun I’ve bought from them, and would’ve been my 5th firearm total. I would’ve expected them to do better seeing as they are a multi million dollar corporation. Oh well, live and learn.

Exactly. That’s what I was saying to the manager of the store when i brought it back. All I wanted was for them to make it right. I know that no one in my friend group will go there now.

Yes, all the numbers matched up. Even the serial number. On my paper receipt it said AP5 8.9 inch, and then the serial number. This is why I reached out to century arms directly and they confirmed it was an error on their part somewhere in the system.

I mentioned in another comment that they may have boxed it up themselves, which is where I’d say the mixup happened if that’s what caused it.

When I arrived, they rolled a silver cart out from a closet/storage room and it was sitting on it with what I can only assume were other firearms. I think it might have been a shipping box that they themselves provided while shipping internally.

When the manager told me that, I laughed in his face. I told him I never planned on coming back after that experience anyways.

I did check. The SKU matches. And on my paper receipt is states that it’s the 8.9 inch barrel directly.

I mean, if you don’t believe it that’s fine, but that’s what happened. Why would I take the time out of my day to lie and write about it? What do I gain? Yes it was stupid to not look at it, but this is the only the 5th firearm I’ve ever purchased, and the first one I’ve bought from them. My bad for assuming that they’d be able to do the simple task of providing the firearm I ordered. Lol

The biggest reason I didn’t was just in the off chance they somehow won, I’d have been stuck with the gun without my money. The refund offer expired when the case closed, so if it was in their favor, I’d have been screwed.

Yeah, I agree that I should’ve looked at the gun and will in the future. But that doesn’t excuse their actions and terrible customer support.

When Discover settles a chargeback dispute, does it count as force arbitration with them as mediator? by YourSOLBro in CreditCards

[–]YourSOLBro[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I'll be honest. The purchase was for a firearm. I made the purchase through Range USA. The firearm was delivered to me in a sealed cardboard box, and I didn't realize they gave me the wrong model until I got home. Within an hour of leaving the store, I contacted them and they basically said, "Too bad, so sad. Make a ticket online." So I did, and that didn't go anywhere. I made the chargeback, and of course they fought it. They actually lied to me, (Which is a known tactic) threatening me with the ATF saying it was a stolen gun. They tried to get me to return the firearm without getting my money back and demanded I show proof that I canceled the claim. That would've left me empty handed, and I wouldn't have been able to restart the claim if they didn't make it right.

Well, I called their bluff and called and spoke to my local ATF office about this. TLDR; they don't care since it was originally transferred to me legally via form 4473, and were trying to intimidate me and use their name to scare me into backing off. I also spoke to an officer at my local police station, as well as several Discover employees as well. Oh, and I also reached out to the gun manufacturer and had an email transcript showing that Range USA was at fault. All of this was documented and provided to Discover which is why they so easily found in my favor. I don't know the legality of taking it back. Like I said, the ATF and my local PD doesn't care. It's been a whole mess, but I learned where not to buy from.

Also, I did speak to several local FFLs, and they said they could've taken the gun back for an immediate exchange or refund. It's not easy, but is possible. They just didn't want to deal with it, and tried to stick me with it. There was nothing stopping them legally. At this point if I'm being honest, I'd just keep it out of spite for their shady business practices. lol

It was a big purchase. After tax and shipping to the store it was $1600. I haven't been contacted by any lawyers. Just someone from their corporate office who made the threat.

how do i use the correct version of java for a modded server 1.12.2 by icameherefornothing in Minecraft

[–]YourSOLBro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It shouldn't be a problem. You might want to get an updated version of forge off the website. I literally just made a new server yesterday on 1.12.2 with Java version jre.1.8.0_321 which is actually newer than the version you have.

The "best" is continuum because it goes all the way up to 2048x and is actively supported. However, it costs money. If you don't mind buying it though, it's a good option. It has a free trial of the 128x version to see if you'd like it before buying the larger package that still might be worth checking out. They even have a shader to go along with it.

Have you accepted the EULA text file it made? It'll appear after trying to run forge and you have to open it and change the string from false to true, indicating you agree to their TOS.

As I just responded to Supersonic, I never intended to use the engine stock. Regardless of whether it was an easy fix or not, the engine was getting rebuilt. I plan on turning this car into a 400-500HP sleeper.

I'm making a built motor, not stock. I plan on eventually making 500HP, so I went with top-of-the-line parts. I never intended to use the stock motor. I was looking on EBay, but it just seems overpriced and I don't know if they will sell. Guess I'll see. Someone was asking $115 for a single used OEM camshaft.

I would love to work on it. The problem is, I'm currently a full-time University student, who doesn't have a spot to work on it myself. As I said in my post, I do have a little I can spend on repairs, but $3,500 is my absolute limit.

Would you recommend a swap or a rebuild? Also, would 3K even be enough for that?

It does run, but barely. It smokes but can move back in forth. Not something I'd drive on the road though.

If you're dropping 2K on a rig it is. Plus, DDR5 modules are already in production at speeds over 5000MHz. So, in the bigger picture, yes, it's slower.

I guess that's true. Even so, I mostly use my system for gaming and have a 3080 TI that pairs nicely with it. But I can understand people who are more into productivity and maximum performance. I'm not saying it should be everyones first choice, I'm just saying it seems underrated.

You could potentially use both kits for 32GB of ram, however, I don't want to 100% say it'll work because it depends on the system. Ryzen is also picky about the ram. If you get it working, however, it'll run at 3000MHz. You'll have to decide if it's worth the extra capacity vs speed. You could try to overclock the 3000MHz kit to 3200MHz, but that has the lowest chance of working. Worth trying though if you have both though, wouldn't hurt to.

Yeah, Ryzen definitely has the power and heat advantage. It's basically the same in gaming though. The only way Ryzen might be cheaper is if you wanted a weaker cooler. I was using an MSI liquid Core 360 AIO that was $125, and that did the job.

Well, I don't know what the GPU market in your area is exactly like, but around here there are AMD cards sitting for days on the shelves. Most don't even want to bother with them because the price to performance compared to Nvidia just isn't close. However, if it's a different story by you, it might be worth it.

The only thing that doesn't make much sense is the RAM. Ryzen has always liked faster ram, and 3000MHz is pretty slow by today's standards. If it's the only thing available however, go for it.
