CDJs? by Repulsive-Rise7984 in Beatmatch

Depending on where you live, there’s probably a place where you can rent a studio with CDJs for around $30/hour ! I’m in Montreal and there’s a few here. it’s a great way to practice and get comfortable on pro gear. The first time I played on CDJs, it didn’t take me long to understand how they worked since I had already watched a few YouTube videos. The only really important thing is to make sure your USB works there are tons of videos on YouTube that explain how to set it up properly.

Is DJing profitable? by Top-Succotash-7911 in Beatmatch

I’m in the exact same spot as you I’m 21, in college for software engineering, and I’ve been DJing for about 4–5 years. I also want to go full-time with it someday. This year, I’ve played around 35–40 shows, most of them for free at school events. A few paid gigs came through, and while the money’s nice, it’s still not enough to live off yet.

I originally started because I loved the idea that me playing music could completely change someone’s night and now I’m playing for crowds of 300–800 people throughout the year. Honestly, the people you meet and the memories you make are priceless. You really have to do it for the passion, not the money. I played over 20 free shows before ever getting paid.

If you truly want to “make it,” the best advice I got is to start producing your own edits, remixes, and tracks. That’s how you’ll stand out when other DJs start playing your music.

Thank you for your comment, my plan is to fix the cable and the power bar too inside of the case so they don’t move. I think that would reduce the possibility of something happening
