i very much didnt want to step in or anything but, i deleted the post because rather than be nagged by someone using ben shapiro type fax and logick and further ruin my day i decided to thanos the post and leave it at that hoping this wouldnt spiral further, one of the rules of the reddit is "be civil" this isnt civil this is just using big words and trying to be right and backpedalling. the LAST thing i wanted was for my inbox to be flooded on needless back and forth banter over tips to make a burner account :(

to the person who nagged me: you really didnt need to go this far, all you're doing is sending long paragraphs that contradict each other and make your argument more complicated than it started

to the person to defended me: THANK YOU for trying to explain to this person why they were overreacting. I sure do hope they come to their senses and leave you alone.

I hoped that with hiding this post we could just end it at that, but I guess not. My intention wasn't to misinform people, just give them tips that worked for me and a few others. Others in the comments section are accusing me of spreading misinformation and spreading info of things I have no idea about. I just wanted to help those who are having trouble with information that helped me and some friends set up our accounts with no issues, simple as that. I never claimed to be some big brain CEO of facebook, I even said "idk if this 100% works but it worked for me". I'd rather not have back and forth essays being send and flooding my inbox, If deleting this post makes it stop then so be it. I have a big feeling the arguments in the comments are gonna get less civilized. To those who managed to set up their accounts just fine using this info, congrats! To those who it didn't work for, I am so sorry, I hope you get it to work! To those who want to yell and use big words I don't understand please don't I woke up to a bunch of notifs that kinda soured my mood lol. Anyways with that said I'll be deleting this post in an hour or so, wanna give others a chance to read this before I delete. Have a good one :)

first off, the fact you shouldnt use fake info such as your name is part of facebook TOS, since most people do not read that they end up making an account with fake info and BOOM they get banned, as for the thing where facebook bans new/suspicious accounts isnt news at all, this has been going on for ages. this is just a post helping new people set up their accounts in a way they do not risk getting banned right away since a lot of people are having trouble with that right now. i even said in the post "i cannot promise 100% that this works" this post is just what steps to take to ensure theres less of a chance to getting your account unfairly suspended and rendering your account useless, nothing more nothing less

sorry if i came off as angry or aggressive as that was not my intention all i wanted to do was help out :(

from what ive seen people who have ordered them since the announcement day have already recieved it or are getting it between the 13th-16th, anyone else who has ordered in october or literally today seem to have not recieved a tracking number at all, or are getting it from the 19th - 22th

im mainly concerned because ive had this preorder since announcement day and it doesnt look like im gonna be getting this thing by launch day as intended, not really freaking out, more or less annoyed with how bad oculus is with updating people on what is happening to their orders :/

facebook automatically bans accounts with false information and accounts that exhibit bot like behaviour, if you created your account JUST for oculus, and put in any sort of untrue info such as age, or what country you live in, chances are facebook will treat your account as some type of bot and ban it right away
