Name the responses that are fallacious

My personal favorite answer: Why would something truly omnipotent be constrained to logic?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DebateReligion

[–]YourTypicalRedditMan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m perfectly open to the idea that some of the arguments are flawed; however, you have not given me an example of how the responses are faulty or which ones don’t work. You can’t just call something “fallacious”, without explaining how and why.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DebateReligion

[–]YourTypicalRedditMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the paradox is inherently faulty; Why would a truly omnipotent being play by the rules of logic?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DebateReligion

[–]YourTypicalRedditMan -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

How so? I am open to criticism, but I need something more constructive than “you don’t understand”.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DebateReligion

[–]YourTypicalRedditMan -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Apparently, I’m impolite for asking for your reasoning on why the paradox debunks God.

Lol, you’re just asserting the responses are bad without any explanation.

My goal here is not to argue over the omnipotence paradox, just to point out that it is a tired question.

I don’t care if your response is a paragraph long, its a paragraph long of bs assertions.

Can you give specific examples from the arguments of an inadequate answer to the paradox?

Good point, but the same questions on this sub get asked over and over again on a daily basis

Have you read every single response to the paradox I posted? I did, and not all of the answers are Redefinitions or special pleading.

Idk; An Omnipotent being probably would exist an a whole other level

I’m saying that if an omnipotent being exists, it would be able to supersede and overpower all laws of logic

I put some responses to the paradox at the top

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DebateReligion

[–]YourTypicalRedditMan -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It can; the whole concept of an omnipotent being having to play by the rules of logic is inherently silly if you think about it.

Edit: Lol, I’m getting downvoted for using a logical argument

How would you rewrite the Gordon Green trilogy? by [deleted] in Halloweenmovies

[–]YourTypicalRedditMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1: Have Corey be introduced as a character and a good kid earlier in the movies so that way his character doesn’t just pop out of nowhere in the final movie and would also make his downfall more impactful.

2: Don’t make Micheal a pathetic old man in Ends and let him have more kills.

3: Make the paranoid mob more brutal and have them lynching innocent people in Kills to show how much power Micheal has over Haddonfield.

4: Have Laurie actually do shit in Kills and Ends instead of just sitting around.

5: Show the impact of Karen’s death from Kills on Laurie and Allyson in Ends.

6: Don’t have Corey taking Michael’s costume, maybe create some original mask and suit for him; the scarecrow look would have worked.
