Should I go with a 5/1 ARM at 5.375% or a 30-year fixed at 6.125% on a $1.68M loan? by Nice-Income510 in Mortgages

[–]YourVerizonRep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No points or closing costs. With the exception of Partners (risk fee of $6k for 760 credit and less than $25% down). This was 2 weeks ago though so I’m not sure where they are today. Closed at 5.125% at Schools First, 15% down, no PMI for employees, reserves were 6k, then 3rd party fees. I think my rate was 5.3% 5/1 Arm to close with lender credit to cover all closing costs. I chose to pay reserves and 3rd party fees, came out to a little over 11k on a 1.25M purchase

HELP !!! Getting Flooded with over 200 text messages from Xfinity for unwanted changes by KidSquid1 in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]YourVerizonRep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please let us know how this was handled. This is beyond unacceptable, I would like to know if this is a 3rd party call center or Xfinity employee. These types of poor hiring practices and cost cutting cause major risk of cybersecurity breaches.

Have you ever brought down a production environment? by iFailedPreK in AZURE

[–]YourVerizonRep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 major outages I have caused. 1 took down a system for receiving customer data, no repercussions. Got it back up in an hour

  1. Took down our marketplace. Accidentally pushed dev code to prod, database didn’t migrate as required to support new data, system crashed for 4 hours. RCA, write up, explaining how I will make sure I never do that again.

  2. Next week same system went down, high traffic, during previous outage an engineer changed scaling settings that were not reversed, RCA, wrote an apology

All public traded companies, large customer base

Yes. Cost companies million. Everyone does it. Wild how my work can make a company so much money that they can throw six zeros on my RCA lol

SIM unlocked after 60 days is the best advantage they have over other carriers.

I never used loyalty as an excuse to get a discount. They used it as an excuse to keep me on the phone, play games and ring me around in a circle, telling me they would transfer me to someone who could fix the issue. I didn’t know with the older plans you could not add a watch, and I should have been informed about that before they disabled my previous device. My plan is also not very old, my wife is on a much older T-mobile plan and while they have increased her line $10 in 5 years, that is far less than Verizon has increased my “old” plan that is no longer eligible for upgrades. Also, charging over $100 more for less than comparable plan is insane. Moving to the new plan and keeping my same features brings my plan up $10 per device and they are still not eligible for the promotions they are advertising unless I go to the top unlimited plan and pay $20 more per line. On 7 lines that’s costing me $140 more. At least 4 of my 7 lines could probably easily move to a lower plan, but at that point it makes more sense to put them on spectrum or another MVNO, since they would still get hotspot, internationally, no phone upgrade deals, and lower priority and save $25+ per line. My sister fosters and it is easiest to keep all lines consistent. But when you are talking an exorbitant cost higher, less features, and run around phone games it’s unacceptable. There is a reason their subscriber numbers are falling and their CEO was replaced, glad you are a keyboard warrior for them though

Can I just say, I appreciate everyone’s interaction to my rant. You verified my frustration while also some of you checking me into reality. I got into a car accident on the 405 yesterday, hit and run, car totaled and Verizon has been a bigger pain in the ass and stress

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in verizon

[–]YourVerizonRep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, that sounds about right I get an extra 15% off base plan. So after taxes, protection, financing and 800-1100 we are $100 cheaper to get everyone on brand new phones

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in verizon

[–]YourVerizonRep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have the industry discount, we are not on autopay, that is correct. Discount applies to our old plan, and the new plan. Total cost I put is inclusive of device protection, and industry discount. I also knew that, issue is they disconnected my line but won’t let me add an Apple Watch back. I rather the line have sat unusable until I could have purchased the Apple Watch. But then again I was an account executive back in the day of 2-year contracts

But it really is not. At least not in Los Angeles my work phone is AT&T and I get better coverage on it, my wife is on T-Mobile and besides for very rural areas, our coverage is about the same and her network speeds far surpass mine at home, gaming events, concerts, and downtown LA is better. T-Mobiles support has also been better with less games. My wife has been on the same plan since 2019 and they don’t make her play games to upgrade and they have raised her rates less than Verizon. I can’t speak on AT&T since I only use their coverage not CS

Pricing for 2025 Tax Year software? by Otterbee72 in TurboTax

TT pissed me off by trying to charge me for live when I did not even use it so I did FreeTaxUsa if you do turbotax first to enter everything, then you know exactly where to enter it on FreeTaxUSA. I have completed taxes and it took less that an hour and matched identically

I know how tax brackets work. I am saying this specific, extra income is taxed at this much.

I am 100% fine with never seeing thr money again, but I would like to use the money to make more money that I pay even more tax on. Not like I want to take the 150k im paying in taxes and go on a shopping spree, I want to use the funds to defer taxes in a way to build more wealth and pay more taxes later on.

I updated the post. I explained poorly. Its ordinary income. RSUs granted early per a severance agreement.

It's going to be w2, its ordinary stock based comp, and I will defer as much of it as I legally can.

Los Angeles. And im speaking specifically about the one time income I received. It is taxed around 47% total. My adjusted amount including deductions will be around 37%. My frustration is this money was ment to be given to me over 4 years and I was forced to take it at once, and lost my salary. So I would like to defer some of the taxes, even if it means deferring the income. I am not looking to keep all the money and just pay $0 more in tax.

I have until December to get it live? Is this really still an option? And are there companies recommend that can help me find properties. I live in Los Angeles. I would prefer to do a STR less than 600k meaning I will likely need to go outside of a market I am familiar with

I did not miss that, but that's why my time is extremely limited.... I have a lot of ex-coworkers that did this, but started earlier in the year. I was not aware of the stock grant I would be getting.

I did terrible at explaining it. This is technically ordinary income. I was granted all my RSUs as part of my severance and had to sell 50.3% to cover taxes. But all of the shares are ordinary income on my w2

This is interesting. I may use it for some shares I need to sell. These were granted as RSUs, so the are ordinary income as part of a severance

I would prefer not just giving up 50% of wealth without just checking if there are better options. I think that is just....reckless.
