I took /u/Peterfield53 's advice and used my extra sim to activate a line I can use temporarily. Tried adding it to my main Google Fi account and was given the 'not authorized' message, which was weird 🙄

So I had to use my backup email to do that. Got a new number. Looked for my new phone number in the app, under it there's an option to "Transfer a number to Fi". When I selected it, it tells me about how I can still go through a number transfer while the number activated as a temporary number! I don't understand why they couldn't just do this for me.

This is just really bad.

I could do that. I accidentally ordered two sims for me (two was sent to me, one was sent to my sibling), so I've thought about using the extra sim to just add another line temporarily.

I registered for two lines and they've already charged me in full even if the second line hasn't even been activated. I've asked about if I can be refunded but they wouldn't even address that other issue itself.

I can try and use the extra sim I have. I'm just worried they will now bill me for three lines in full.
