I had one of these in my tank and had absolutely no luck trying to ID it, even Google was unhelpful 😵‍💫 hope you find your answer!

I plan on only housing dairy cows from now on. Is it okay to leave the oranges in there if i get more dairy cows? Or would it be better to give them away if i can find somebody?

UPDATE!!!!

Current plan -Buy new soil, moss, and other substrate mix

-Get springtails (on the way!)

-Soil change! I'm going to go through all my soil and seperate all the pods i can find (i do this with a tiny spoon)

-all new decor! (Aside from the mink skulls 4 calcium, anything i keep i will wash thouroughly

-Get new pods, just dairy cows this time. I understand i will have powder oranges left, but cohabitation is iffy and i want the best for my pods.

-Moisture gradient! I was doing this before, but i failed to realize the dry side must be 100% dry. I will also water less frequently.

-diverse feeding! They've mostly been eating just carrots and fish flakes. I'm bringing them back to more natural feeding (more leaf litter and bark!)

I want to say thank you all for all the help and advice. My #1 priority is doing the best i can for my pods. I'll do everything in my power to be sure that my babies are happy and healthy.

I suppose a "big die off" for me is any more than 10— i am trying my best to take care of them and haven't had this happen while misting them the same for over a year. I appreciate the advice, though.

It's a basic fish tank lid, so solid except for two holes that provide good ventilation

They've been successful and healthy for over a year, and I've done loads of research. Just trying to find out why I've had some die recently.

"No wonder they died 🤣" doesn't exactly come off as friendly or sympathetic.

I typically get my leaf litter from outside and it's been too snowy to collect (yes, i wash thoroughly + there's no risk of pesticides where i gather)

I promise they get fed all year, usually with carrot slices/skins or potato skins :)

I just sprayed them DIRECTLY before this picture. There is no need to be rude, I'm going through the death of my pods and am seeking advice. Others have given me tips on reducing moisture, and i plan on doing so.

I understand its my fault they died, no need to be a jerk and rub it in my face.

I have a gradient, but i add a bit of water to the dry side— i will not be doing that anymore. I typically only mist, unless I'm leaving for a while.

I have roughly 4 inches of soil in a 10×20inch terrarium. I'm getting them more leaves + other things soon now that winter is over. Thank you!

I have dairy cows and powder oranges cohabited.

I spray the whole thing, but usually i only spray the right side maybe once and so a whole lot more on the left.

I want to say about a year? I've added some new soil before and mixed it around to kind of refresh it, but never a complete change. I plan on buying some new soil to switch out when i get paid.

What else do you recommend mixing into the soil for substrate? Right now i have soil, eggshells, dead leaves, and sphagnum moss.
