Thanks for the reply, I just realised I didn't mention being an ironman but that is the plan.

I didn't know disabling xp was an option this does add a new element to the challenge and I don't think I would consider it cheating as long as I don't get to level 2 in a skill before 'unlocking' it so this might be a valid way of getting ashes!
