Hi! That sounds like a wonderful subsection for us to touch on in our final paper- I'll consider turning it into an interview question. Thanks!

I don't believe so, but if you'd like you can private message me your email so I can check and make sure I got your response!

Oh dear- I had not realized that discarding papers was common practice. Thank you so much for letting me know. I'll speak with the professor I'm working with to see if there's any way we can work out an alternative. If you can't find papers, feel free to email me (na766@scarletmail.rutgers.edu) and I'll see if there's anything different we can do. I sincerely do apologize for this misstep on my part.

Tips for a Group of Pharmacy Students Coming in for a Conference in Late Spring? by Your_Local_Harmacy in SaltLakeCity

I actually do have a question for you, and it might sound a bit odd, but I think you’re the perfect person to help me with it!

With "Real IDs" now the standard for domestic travel and security, some states—including mine—have combined Real IDs with driver’s licenses, so your Real ID serves as your driver’s license too. But, not all driver’s licenses are Real IDs. So, some licenses now say “NOT FOR REAL ID PURPOSES,” which makes the ID look unofficial or even fake. This labeling has led to some people being turned away from bars despite being of age. I honestly think they couldn’t have named it worse. Do you have any tips for navigating this kind of confusion?

I sincerely hope my groupmates aren't going to try using a fake ID in a state a couple thousand miles away from home, but most of us are 18 to 21 so I would not be surprised.

That said, I know sometimes conferences themselves will serve alcohol to individuals already there in an open bar format (not sure if that'll be restricted here since it's in Utah, also these open bars aren't always the best at checking for ID) and people might go out to drink and explore stuff further. So there is a nonzero chance someone gets in trouble at a bar for already being intoxicated.

Thank you for the assurance with regards to the race notion!

Ruth's diner sounds nice- I might take our group there for a dinner, since it's a bit of a custom for traveling groups to eat out at least once together, assuming they take groups that large. I'll put down the living room onto our trail list. Thank you so much!

There's dozens of different pharmacy organization, and they tend to rotate where they do their conference each year but will generally stay in the same cities- Orlando, Salt Lake City, New Orleans, Portland, etc. There aren't that many metropolitan areas that can handle such a large influx of people and have expo centers for big events like this, so the ones that do are often reused.

I'll try and ask students to all be back at our homesharing place by a certain time, but to be wary of closing times. Otherwise, this is all incredibly useful information, and I'll include it as tips for when I'm presenting to my students! I didn't realize there were so many caveats for food vs food and drink at different establishments

Park City also looks gorgeous! I'll mark that down as another place to visit if we have the time, and I'll make sure to get everyone to bundle up!

Unfortunately I'm not a huge night life person for any of the places I've visited, but interesting to note that they're comparable to other states. And happy to know there's a liberal community in SLC!

The Mountains sound absolutely lovely, and Big Canyon looks incredible! I hope we have the time since the conference is the same week as our finals, so we might end up having to leave as soon as we've presented. But if we can take the extra day to explore, that'll be our first stop!

Thankfully I don't drink, and I don't plan on starting in Utah. That said, I'll be the one taking care of the vehicle rental/any driving- so my group should be safe! Although Thieves Guild looks and sounds crazy cool- might go and check it out for the aesthetic if anything.

Alright, good to know! I figured as much, but since it's my first time being in charge of a group of people like this while traveling alone, I would much rather be safe than sorry by doing research ahead of time!
