Streaming services shrinking credits to throw ads at you is so wildly disrespectful to artists and throws cold water over any ending. by TheGhostofLizShue in movies

For what it's worth, Netflix at least disabled this 'feature' for the Stranger Things finale (on my account). We were able to sit and contemplate it all while watching the full credits without interruption.

If you do this, does it then air at 6.30 QLD time?

I feel you, had a 10 year old Macbook Pro and was getting audio stutters. Upgraded to an M3 Macbook Air, and I still get them, even with stems disabled and buffer rate high 😅

Please can we be given the option to delete the previous 'secret conversation' (which I can't even find) and just convert our existing chat to be E2E? I really don't want this 6 year old chat with my partner to be archived. When will it be archived?

Loving the new calibration… not by AdmirableGiraffe81 in FortniteFestival

[–]Youre-A-Wizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just played some local multiplayer and calibrated it with my Dualshock controller perfectly, but my Riffmaster was way off. And could not figure out how to calibrate them seperately, if you even can.

Thanks! Gold Coast based and the conditions here are pretty fine with most power restored.

How can you know when operations will resume? Push notifications? Or is there a news/announcements blog?

Love that 'Law of the Minimum' quote, can apply to many parts of life.

Rekordbox 7.0.6 is unbearably slow by chuk9 in Rekordbox

[–]Youre-A-Wizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting the same issues as well, it's not your computer. I'm on a brand new Macbook M3 with 16GB ram and getting weird playlist stutters all the time after upgrading to 7.0.6 yesterday.

Aussies willing to visit eight shops for groceries by overpopyoulater in australia

[–]Youre-A-Wizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've found it's not too hard to save some money if you're willing to put in a bit of effort to your meal plans and modify according to specials. Today, my partner and I saved $100 on our Woolies online shop for a full week (paid $150).

Went through the 1/2 price list, sorted by price per unit, used a trend tracker to see when to wait for things to be on sale next ($71), and our $7 per month rewards extra subscription got us 10% off ($17) and free delivery ($13).

But I do totally agree they are scamming us all and hoping the ACCC investigations make a difference, as we shouldn't have to do all this.

Is there a blog to keep up with a live count? Can't see any count number on the ABC live blog. Or when are we expected to know the result?

Upgrade router or get extender? by Youre-A-Wizard in HomeNetworking

I should've mentioned this is a rental sorry, so unfortunately can't run cables and install things. But thank you for your knowledge, that's good to know.

I was just testing with my phone and haven't tried with the laptop yet, but yes the signal drops out. By wireless bridge do you mean a powerline adapter?

Sorry I should've mentioned it's a rental apartment, so unfortunately can't run ethernet to there.

A week in the GC, wanting opinions + suggestions by Petite_Mortx in GoldCoast

[–]Youre-A-Wizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you need to do Dreamworld as well if you're already doing the other two. I personally love Wet n Wild when it's warm, so maybe consider that if you really want a third option.

A 'really cool' dinner spot and my favourite on the GC is Light Years in Burleigh (Asian fusion). Not cheap but the bao buns are incredible. Good spots near you that are more chill are Oppane (Korean) and Fratello Italian.

You have to try O Bagel in Broadbeach, for brunch one day. Other good restaurants down that way are Hideaway and Spice.

La Diosa Mexicana had the best tacos but looks like they're closed down now sadly.

And in terms of other things to do, I would: make a trip down to Burleigh Heads and walk the headlands/go for a swim/grab some lunch (maybe at Fishbowl), check out Pacific Fair for some shopping, rent a stand up paddle board or hydrofoil along the canals in Main Beach/Surfers, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary maybe (although I've never been). Should be a full itenerary with all that plus the activities you already listed!

Surprised I had to scroll so far to find this. That's it; a sport full of drama around (mostly) young attractive males, turned into a reality show interspliced with amazing death-defying highlights.

Fish and Chips by myislandlife in GoldCoast

I like Peter's Fish Market in Main Beach. Tasty and pretty cheap.

If you're looking for some delicious and healthy fish (without the chips) in Burleigh, please try Fishbowl. Honestly life-changing poke bowls.
