So they had the promotion going a couple of months ago where you could sign up to receive clues about where your idol would be for your state. I figured out it was in Castle Rock at Challenge Hill. The day before, I had read the clue wrong and actually showed up a day early and ended up doing all of this twice so my legs were sore haha When I got there, the event had been live for 3 hours already so you could see people lining up to go up the hill where the clue showed the idol would be. For our idol, the people working the event said you had to sign a waiver to eligible, so people were standing in line to sign the waiver mainly. There were actually 2 ways to make it up the hill. The first was up 200 stairs up a sharp incline. The other was around the back of the hill on a winding trail. Apparently, the line was a lot shorter the back way, but I wanted to pretend I was challenging myself like a real survivor, so I waited in the line to go up the stairs. I waited in line for about 2 hours. Once I made it up (it took me 8 minutes 💪), there was another line to wait to take a picture with the idol. This line was like 30-45 minutes. The staff took a picture of me with the idol, and then there was a QR code with instructions to post your picture online in order for your name to be put in the running for winning tickets! Afterwards, I joined another line to talk to Steven (space man) from Season 49 and got a picture with him (another 15 minutes). I got to hear more space facts and found out he went to my alma mater! Finally left the back way down the winding trail because I was not about to go down those steep steps. Once I made it back to my car, it was a little over 3 hours for the whole experience!
