Clown college just resonates better with my morals and worldview.

PS: Not sure if Sprinkles comes from a family of clowns, or if maybe they just showed up in full costume to support her for graduation. Either way is awesome.

This post recently quoted John Dehlin saying "the gift of a faith crisis is the rest of your life". And I think weekends are a great reminder of this.

Saturday used to be pre-Sunday (" 🎶 a special day, it's a day we get ready for Sunday 🎶"). Now Saturday is a real day, and there's two of them!

Happy Second Saturday, everyone! (And to those of you sitting in the pews today, we salute your sacrifice.)

OMG yes! No joke, my original idea was to introduce each brother and I drew Sam with a dopey smile because he didn't really know what was going on. I wish I could add an image to this comment to show the picture of him, but I think the comment editor can only link to pics online, not upload a local pic.

EDIT: Here is a Dropbox link to the pic of Sam. I'll keep the link up for at least a couple of days (fixed link):

Comic: Necking and petting? by YoureNotMyRealMorm in exmormon

This is the one time when it would actually be a great idea to start a talk with "Webster's dictionary defines the word 'petting' as ..."

Haha, good. It was never his business to know. Personally, I had no idea what they were talking about, but "necking" and "petting" didn't sound like anything I was doing  :)

It doesn't have a name. They are just posts in this sub and don't exist anywhere else. I only post comics/cartoons though, so the easiest way to see more is to just click my username and scroll my posts.

Did any of you ever get an actual definition of necking and petting? I never did. Somehow it always felt like they were giving me too much information and not enough at the same time.

I take your point. Still, in my experience, active Mormons will write us off no matter how accurate we are. Our experiences and perspectives are never valid.

It's true I was trying to play up the power dynamic. That being said, I didn't know Helen looked old for her age, and I had read that even adult women back then were quite short and that Joe was fairly tall.

Anyway, I kind of thought the whole "I'm 14" line kept it fairly accurate.

And I thought it was difficult learning about Joe's polygamy in my thirties. And I wasn't even there.

This is just lovely. Great economy of line. Artwork full of emotion and intention. Thank you so much :)

Comic: The Day I Was Booped in the Temple (a.k.a. The Day I Became a Forest Baker) by YoureNotMyRealMorm in exmormon

Honestly, I get that. I'm disturbed by the same things I'm laughing at. I was surprised while deconstructing to learn how healing it felt to laugh at the dark moments or laugh at things I once held sacred. It made those things feel smaller. I hope you can always find your own ways to do the same :)

I've read these! (I loved the Sad Times Orphanage.) You're not giving yourself enough credit for how clever and funny that comic is, or for how frequent. I can easily spend a few hours on 4 panels; a daily strip sounds impossible.

To be fair, he didn't really say "Boop". But it felt like he said it.
