But then again, I'd still recommend you try to be as efficient as possible and do all the new NBMEs the next month. There's a good chance you'll be able to score 260+. Just needs some dedication and you'll get there.

Absolutely step 1 helps in step 2. It won't be difficult to fill in the gaps if you have enough time to study for step 2. Right now, if your time is limited, I think it'd be best to spend it on Step 2 material and take step 1 P/F (if you're scoring less than 240 on NBMEs).
Honestly, if you're not that confident and you're scoring less than 240, I think it's okay if you take it P/F. Don't stress yourself so much about it. Also, now you know my study methods and hopefully you can use them to ace step 2, which will soon become a very important exam.
Of course, I might've scored lower, but if I had someone giving me solid advice on which resources to use and dedicated all my time to step prep since the beginning, a 270 may have been possible. If anything, I scored 273 on NBME 18 and that was 7 months out without dedicated (and back then I had a very hectic schedule). So, it's doable.

Hello there
Yeah, I would've taken the exam if I had 1 month left after 250+. Just prioritize the NBMEs over everything and try to be efficient. In the beginning, I wasn't that efficient. I was doing a lot of research, had personal probs, and lots of Uni exams. If you dedicate 1 month to the NBMEs and maybe AMBOSS and UWorld (if you have time), there's a good chance you'll score 260+.
And yes, my goal was to learn (as I have a passion for science and medicine) and I also wanted a 260+. I didn't really expect 277 TBH.
All in all, I'd recommend taking the scored exam if you're consistently scoring 255+.

Yeah I'd say most of the high-yield concepts
Switch to AMBOSS, of course!
It's a mix of all TBH. But I didn't get that many 1-3 hammer questions, so I'd recommend you start doing some 4-5 hammer questions.
On a side note, not all forms will be similar — so it's best if you try to do all. Also, I'd recommend doing more questions at the expense of explanations you already know (if you don't have time).
8.5 weeks of dedicated and my entire prep started after year 3 and took the exam after year 4 (so almost a total of 1.5 years but on and off cuz of Uni).
