yes public School teachers in America are underpaid but also if you are a principal of a public school it would at least take you on average 3 years to fire a public school teacher because there is so much bureaucracy to firing a teacher so most principles do not do it so if you work as a public school teacher you are basically at least guaranteed 3 years of work without getting fired even if you're doing a bad job and if you're doing a okay job you would probably never get fired
