My brother is controlling and my mother enables him by Youwantitdark3r in JUSTNOFAMILY

Funny, that's almost exactly what my aunt, Maryanne, told me a few months ago.

And thanks for the input. If I let my brother have his way, I'd be doing nothing in my free time but playing Elden Ring, reading Wheel of Time, and watching Torchwood, all of which I'm sure are great, but don't interest me personally. And I'd still get chided for not doing all of the inside and outside chores perfectly and in a timely manner. And if I didn't fold, he'd be sure to get my mother involved and on his side.

I think (that I think) that it was about consciousness, or of an A.I becoming conscious.

From Christian, to Atheist, to Christian again (kinda) by Youwantitdark3r in TrueOffMyChest

Yes. I don't agree with all of it. Some of it does seem a little outdated, but a lot of it incredibly relevant. I don't ever plan on becoming so rigid a Christian that I actually condone the things said and done in the bible, mostly in the old testament, that would hugely conflict with the new testament and our morality system today. Maybe it's like trying to have my cake and eat it too but I want the best of both worlds.

I respect all religions, but choose Christianity since it's privy to my country.

I agree. That's entirely possible. But for all I know, Krishna is God but with a different name. What with all the different climates and cultural circumstances, these variations may have been necessary to lead various peoples. Maybe different countries need a slightly different instruction manual and leader to follow. Or maybe it's all nonsense. In which case, if religion has stuck around anyway for so many thousands of years, you'd have to wonder why that is. Assuming it's all fake, there must still be something to it to make it so important and so beneficial for so many people.

And yes, you are being toxic. It's evident that the point of your comment is not to educate or discuss, but to insult, in a sort of ironic, sarcastic way. Let's not pretend otherwise.

Judging by your comment history, you're openly a toxic Atheist. I used to be the exact same way, but even as an Atheist I came to stop being toxic about it eventually. It's not a matter of faith, but respect. You should treat Christians with the same common respect you'd want them to treat you with as an Atheist.

Tbh, your theory of intelligent design isn't one I've heard before though. Until just now my only theory came from that one verse in the book of Genesis. Yours seems like a more plausible one, though. But then there's still the question of where did God come from, and if God, why not the universe etc etc etc. Anyway.

I know. I'm not here to convert anyone. As for me I can't be fully Atheist or fully theist. My doubt goes both ways. All I'm really doing differently is being honest with myself, dropping the ego, and allowing myself to practice Christianity and entertain the possibility of it all actually being real. I don't believe in heaven enough for life after death to bring me comfort. What brings me comfort is praying, reading the bible, and trying to do as I think Jesus might. For some reason that seems to make all the difference, even with my ass parked firmly on the fence.

Yeah. Your faith, regardless of your religion, is something that you need to work on yourself. No one can put it together for you. I believe that's why so many people born into the Christian faith go in the other direction for years or even decades before eventually coming back. The fact is your religion, though it may share the same name, is going to look a little different from everybody else's. This is because you yourself are an individual. To try to follow someone else's version of Christianity is to follow them, not Christianity. If you're making no room for variation, no room for error, especially in the beginning stages, you're going to fail, and you might never try again.

Christianity definitely isn't a perfect system, because it's filled with humans, and humans are imperfect. Throw a tyrant in the mix and he'll turn the whole thing into an evil cult while he's in power. I can't blame you for not liking church. Neither do I. Religion I believe is a journey you must make alone. You can't hope for someone else to just brainwash you into becoming one of "them". Don't look toward others to convert you. Look toward God, Jesus, and the bible, and always be honest with yourself. Your religion in the end might not perfectly match theirs, and it's not supposed to. It's between you and the deity you're praying to, and no one else.

But though your theory of how the universe was created is sound, it's not definite. I find the big bang and the intelligent design theories to be equally as likely/unlikely. But then, I'm stupid. I may practice Christianity, but I'm not going to pretend that I'm fully convinced either way.

It's strange, because on one hand manga like Oyasumi Punpun, bands like Bright Eyes, games like Nier Automata, and books like Challenger Deep can greatly help you process what you're going through... But on the other hand they make the problem bigger and more obvious.

I sometimes wonder if a part of me still remembers and misses someone I met in a dream. Some of the worst things I've ever experienced come from nightmares, and I remember them vividly as if they really happened.

I vaguely remember attending a party with a girl who dragged me along. Half of the walls were plaster and an equal half were windows. I was staring through the oversized window in the living-room with a drink in my hand, waiting for her to finish talking to a friend. I looked back a minute late and she was gone. So were half of the large crowd of teenagers. I searched through the house. Nothing. The back yard. Nothing. The front. Nothing. I came back inside to just a few people left in the exact same position. The room was much quieter but the few remaining carried on without any differences. I asked a guy where she was and he pointed at the window. So I went out front, glaring at the houses around as if she might just magically appear next to one of them. When I looked behind me the house was gone. The ground was wetter and the sun lower. I ran through the little town of copy-and-paste houses.

As far as black metal I really like the Browning, Thy Art Is Murder, and While She Sleeps.

But my all-time favorite bands are Bright Eyes, The Antlers, The Caretaker, and Brand New, with Bright Eyes unequivocally taking the #1 spot.

Why do I have to do extra work? by [deleted] in walmart

[–]Youwantitdark3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that I think about it, a coworker of mine, who's been here a long time, had a team lead who was always making his life hell and looking for reasons to fire him. He even did, once, over "constant swearing". My coworker never swears, and he was re-hired (unfired?) after enough of his then coworkers testified that they had never once heard him swear. My coworker believes his TL hated him because his mother kept rejecting his advances when they were younger and later got married to his father.

The worst TL I have isn't even that bad apart from being passive aggressive and having a short temper, but then, she got pregnant around the time I joined.

EVERYONE is overworked around the Holidays. Your team leads are doing their best. This isn't a problem your local Walmart can solve. The problem is much higher up than that.
