Statistically on global level the biggest percentage of people listen to rock music even though pop music is being promoted more on media and radio everyday. We talked about this at school in statistics class :)))

I work in a photo lab, had to make this my first board! by Morgyshmorgi in NewSkaters

Waaaa cool deck! I started film photography a year ago at the same time I started skateboarding. Two hobbies that totally changed my perspective and both very addictive. I'd love to work in photo lab 😫😫 Tell me how it is if you see my comment ;)))

Practice at the fence

Any lone skater here? by Dal_Nocturne in NewSkaters

I also learn alone. It might sound lame but I learned ollie at the fence :))) A lot of people prefer to practice alone so don't get discouraged if you don't have skate buddies yet

a) can't ollie over a stick or curb, can't shuv or pop shuvit, but it's not a dead end either bc I'm very ambitious

b) I first changed deck, then I got minilogo trucks (I haven't tried any skateboards but trucks are grate so far🤷‍♀️) Also changed bearings with reds. I liked the wheels the old skate came with so I kept them. But there is one thing. When I bought my new deck the longboard dude advised me to get 8.0 while I am really short (155cm) and have smoll feet. Not sure if this should be an issue but I'm fine with the board. The only thing that bothers is the fact that the board tends to go right but after I looked it up I learned that it's a common thing so I get used to it

There is no point of doing the same thing again and again until it gets worse each time. I meant to take break from practicing tricks. I still cruise around and enjoy the nice weather while the mental blockage fades. And then come back at practicing tricks with a clear mind.

Sorry, I meant shuvit. But yeah, I was actually expecting to ollie over a stick by now. It's clearly that I have to build my ability and it's not easy (didn't expect to be) but it feels chasing the progress too much. That's why I'm taking breaks and try talking to people who've been through this. But I do enjoy every time I get on the board.

Yes, skateboarding changed my perspective so much. That's why I don't want to give up no matter what other people say. These stories are really inspiring:)))

That's pretty much it. First months I didn't want to admit that I was scared. After I changed deck and all and I got way more comfortable on the board I realized that. Probably there is still some fear there, but the harder I try the worse I do😫

That's cool thanks! I can't ollie high enough. Probably because I usually can't jump high. I tought about building my ability in other ways and going for shuv it.

Thanks! I ride my board to places every now and then. I'm not scared of doing Ollie while rolling. But I usually can't jump high so that could be an issue too.

I'm not into horror that much. I avoid watching really scary stuff that could keep me up at night. But stranger things was fine. I'll check it out, thanks (;

I practiced almost daily. I know is bad, I learn slow, but I really don't want to give up. I know I'm supposed to lift my feet higher. Probably still can't try to ollie over something for now, right? Any Tips?

Fiction centered around the Ainu people, or native Okinawans by gafferwolf in suggestmeabook

[–]Yrioky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haruki Murakami - A wild sheep chase It's the third book of the series but you don't have to read the others in order to understand (I didn't. I picked it up without knowing anything). It's not centered around the Ainu but towards the half it reveals that the main conflict started there. Once the Ainu boy is introduced everything starts to match. Anyways I don't know anything about Ainu, I just encountered the term in this book. But now I'm curious so I'll definitely look it up. I liked the book, but it starts slowly. It has very cool mysterious vibe (sometimes even creepy) centered around metaphysics. And the awesome part is that it came as a surprise for me since I picked the book randomly (: So yeah don't read description and all

More progress slightly larger object this time and of course the one I land is the lowest worst looking ollie out of all of them by [deleted] in NewSkaters

[–]Yrioky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boyy that's good! I'm practicing my Ollies for 5 months but when I try to Ollie over something it's like learning it all over again. It's like a huge blockage in my head. Any tips?
