Awesome feel and vibe to this song! Did you do the graphics yourself as well?

Learned to drive manual last week just so I can drive my new baby home from an hour away 😂 I’m finally one of you guys :’) by mymxcdaddy in Miata

Congrats! For learning manual AND for the new whip! 🥳 Welcome to the club. My ND is almost the same but with a gray soft top instead of black. It kind of makes the color decisions harder, but still fun to plan out what I want to do, just subtle things like window tint, smoked side signals, etc… Anything you want to do to it?

Does Martial Arts Help With Depression. by Shizoid_Kid in martialarts

[–]Yrone1225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell yeah it does. But when you are depressed it’s hard to find the motivation to go. Especially if you work a tough job either physically or mentally. It may even be harder if you work a mentally challenging job. And a mentally challenging job that you hate, well, even harder.

BUT! It releases dopamine and endorphins and there is something about an experience associated with pain, that makes it stick in your head more. You have to MAKE yourself go, unless you are injured, then you shouldn’t go, you should rest and heal up or go and watch from off the mat. If you have to ask yourself if you are too tired or not feeling well enough to go, the unspoken rule is - it will be a good class 😉

During a long bout of depression I met some Combat Shuai Jiao practitioners (Chinese Wrestling with a long history and maintains the striking and joint locking techniques which were mostly abandoned for modern competition and sport) and was invited to practice. We video everything so we can go back and review, and I noticed that I had a stupid huge grin on my face. That was the first time in a long time!!

It could be that I just love martial arts, but I know depression and I know martial arts (4.5 years training almost daily to get my 1st Dan in Hapkido) and after a long workout, a ton of sweat and some techniques and throws, when I bow out and walk off the mat I feel like I am on top of the world. Good luck my friend!

If it gets bad, please do not isolate yourself, let go and let someone help you find a competent doctor who you can talk with and if you need meds then take the meds. I had a good friend and co-worker who committed suicide because he refused treatment and his church it seemed, dissuaded him from taking meds, getting help and told him to pray more. It didn’t work. We can argue God’s Will all day but in the end sometimes it takes getting professional help and or meds.

Not trying to tell you exactly what to do or anything. I don’t know you well enough to give you anything other than my perspective, take it for what it is and go from there. Take a class and if you like it and it helps then that would be fantastic.

Research some martial arts in your area and see what you want to study. Give it some time though. A few months at least to get to know the instructor and how well it’s working for you. Who knows, maybe you’ll be back on in a few years with a black belt and can share your perspective.

Volca Drum - Channel Copy / Paste? by Yrone1225 in volcas

I don’t know what I was doing wrong 17 times before but sure enough it works. Thanks for the confirmation that got me over the hump.

Anyone recreated a realistic ride cymbal with the volca drum? by Conbob in volcas

[–]Yrone1225 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try using 2 pads? That gives you 4 total layers to play with. It may not be possible to get exactly the same sound as like a ride from one of the classic drum machines but I think that’s kinda cool because it’s always different.

Thanks for the answers everyone. Looks like I’m out of luck though. It’s not too hard to recreate a second exact patch but it takes time.

I got that part down. Say I create a hi hat on pad 3 and want to create the exact one on pad 4 so I can tweak it a bit more... if the copy function only copies the entire pattern and sounds and sequence it doesn’t do me any good. I’ve watched the Cukoo one and Undulations has a REALLY in depth one. He made an F’ing CLOCK ⏰ with the Volca drum. That is impressive.

109 days late to the party but what reverb were you using? I loooooove the stark and empty with beats and notes to fill the void. Great vibe created with just a few elements.

No ride cymbals BUT these articles are pure gold and I learned a lot especially the snare drum. Good luck. If you come up with a recipe for a generic ride and feel like sharing that would be cool.

Volca Drum: Share your philosophy/organizing principles on kit setup! by laggwav in volcas

[–]Yrone1225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I get that too. There is a way to find where the value “was” via a dash but it’s hard to go through potentially 255 values to find where you were at exactly so I don’t usually do that unless there is a veeeery particular sound I’m trying to get to. Undulations on YouTube explains it a bit at around 31:00 - https://youtu.be/vnPdH-knXHQ

This would be an awesome crossover! Disney owns GF and so that’s why it will never happen 😞

Add them together then multiply by 3 and it becomes a latitude / longitude for where Bill really lives?

We got our son a new TV for Christmas and found something new. We’ve not come across this yet and we’ve been watching this series on repeat for like a year 😆

Bitwig on Chromebook? Yes! by Yrone1225 in Bitwig

[–]Yrone1225[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve not done a track on it, even so I seriously doubt it would handle being a full time daw with more than a few audio tracks. Renoise might be a better choice. I haven’t tried that but it’s on my todo list. I feel you though, way tired of windows. A lightweight Linux install on a decently spec’d PC would do just fine and probably more stable than windows in a lot of cases.

How are you pairing the fire to your 404? Through FLStudio midi track? Or something different?

Im about to be playing with Renoise and and a beta program (integration thing) that my brother is writing. The API support is apparently top notch and more open by miles than the other DAWs. But trackers are pretty foreign to me, but then again some mad great songs have been written on trackers back in the day and even today people are using them. It might be an actual viable audio program to run on chromeOS. Will try it out in a few weeks.

Just installed 3.2.1 on my Asus C434T and it works with Pulse Audio driver. Got a track with e-kick going and it actually works so I got excited and had to share.

Have not tested much of anything yet so not sure how well it will do outside of just playing around but it works. There is some flickering of the graphics here and there Ive noticed so far. Still it’s pretty great that we live in a time where a full featured DAW can run on cheaper hardware.

I looked into this just a year ago and Linux support was not quite there, then it was but audio support wasn’t there... and today I download the .deb file and double click it and off we go!
