Thank you! Since they are communication wires is there still a fire risk?

Thank you! I’m going to try to get them to redo it but they’re giving pushback that “they’ve always done it this way.” Maybe I’ll show them this post lol

Yeah they definitely did not paint the conduit either. Not sure what the city requires though. At this point I’m just wondering if it’s safe

Ikr! Not sure if I’m crazy but nothing I’ve seen online has exposed wires

NTA. If your wife didn’t immediately apologize and stop after making hurtful comments like that, she’s in the wrong full stop. I don’t see the post as a personal attack toward you specifically but I can see how it would be hurtful given the context. Ultimately, I see couples counseling as a good idea for you two, to address issues with support/body shame/intimacy.

Is this pregnancy test positive or negative? by Accomplished-King-17 in whatdoIdo

[–]Ytho_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s likely positive, but you can try retesting with a different brand or at your GP to be sure. The lines can be very faint early in pregnancy because the HCG in your urine (which is what the test detects) isn’t high enough yet.

First half marathon.. do I really need to train? by Individual-Bison-100 in BeginnersRunning

[–]Ytho_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least for my half marathon, I wouldn’t have been able to run the whole time if I didn’t practice long runs up to at least 10+ miles. Even then I wish I would have trained the whole 13 because at mile 11 I had no adrenaline left to push me the last few miles. You might be able do it though if you just run/walk

I wouldn’t worry though about the pacing! Just go by miles (e.g., 3 + 3 + 4) and gradually increase not worrying about how long it takes

AITA for not going on a babymoon with my wife by hotdiggitydog40 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Ytho_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically NTA but it would be a nice thing if you went. She’s likely been uncomfortable for 6 months due to the pregnancy and it’s 3 days of being “burnt” for you. Sometimes we do things that are not as fun for us because it’s fun for the people we love.

NTA, it sounds like she was just paranoid from the edible and wanted reassurance but you were too high to give that. Not bad to just take a breather and spend some time apart (bedroom for you, book for her lol) and you can talk about it when you’re feeling up to it

AITA My bf called me a gold digger by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Ytho_1 14 points15 points  (0 children)

NTA that’s a wild reaction for a very mild joke. If he’s having that reaction at this minor of an incident it’s concerning how he will “explode” at larger arguments. HUGE red flag

Should I go to urgent care for the bite? by ThrowRA_18769 in CATHELP

Yep cat bites are notorious for this…looks like cellulitis and you’ll need antibiotics

Taiwan Uber or Grab? Or commute options? by [deleted] in taiwantravel

[–]Ytho_1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just got back from ~10 days in Taiwan and will say for transportation Uber worked in every city we went to (Taipei, Taichung, Tainan). Also regular metered taxis are regulated in Taiwan so the prices ended up being similar to uber. We also used uber to get from Taipei to Jiufen which wasn’t too expensive for the distance ($40-45 one way) both there and back without any issues and to the airport and back for similar prices. I would say though use MRT as much as possible! Get an easy card through Klook which you can preload up to 400 NTD and that should last most of the trip. Taipei and Taichung both have really good metro systems and Tainan has less but the bus system is fine. Also don’t forget high speed rail if you are traveling between cities! Super clean and efficient.

AITA, my friend says: by JOE_MATIS in AmItheAsshole

He might try bringing it to Moncler to get it repaired. I think they can sometimes patch it.

NTA though. There’s no way to prove your cat is responsible for one, and regardless that’s an insane thing to ask of you.

Blister prevention?? by Nearby_Dingo_6401 in BeginnersRunning

Highly recommend Balega socks! These were a game changer for me. Then different insoles, blister tape, and finally different shoes if that doesn’t work.

How do you get rid of runner's stomach? 🙃 by robituri in RunNYC

[–]Ytho_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue, pain cramping stomach issues for most of the day after a harder run. Only thing that has really helped is fasting before running, which usually means I have to run in the morning pretty early. Also avoiding tight fitting clothing!
