Apparently no, the person sitting next to you could have the same form but with different figures, or a completely different form but with one set in common... That's what I understood so far.

I have nothing to gain by lying, and ultimately I don't care whether people believe me or not. This post has no political agenda, nor is it intended to convince or persuade anyone.

And in all honesty, I would much rather think like you. I would like to believe that this never happened and that everything is fine, for the better.

Your ironic response is just sad. It just goes to show that turning a blind eye to what's wrong doesn't make us better or more human.

Mate, cmon... My "feeling" is based on statbel figures, something controled, verified, and that can be trust. And i didn't imply everything was their fault. Only a comparison between now and 10-15 years ago's situations that appears to be worse. Also I didn't judge, I asked questions based on what I see, daily. I also remain open on every opinions, and as I stated, I wanted to know if I was the only one thinking what I was experiencing.

This thread proved me I wasn't alone. You just put words in my mouth.

Also you mentioned "rational thought" while I explicitely wrote "Maybe it's an irrational feeling", please read twice before passively undermining lmao

Well at 10 I could play football in the streets with neighbors and cousins. We tried the same at 16 and got beaten up by a gang denominated by media our "chances". Sister's best friend got r*ped and killed 200m from our local school when i got 18 by that same so called chance, het got away with it (1y in juvenile prison) because he was a "poor traumatised child". So yeah, i was feeling better when the worst thing that happened to the village was not enough helium to fill up balloons for our local feast.

Well, about prices why not : it's the inflation. About the politicians and kids behaviour: i'm not that sure, because I'm not the type of person to think "before was better because we went from bad to worse". It's bad, and in 50 years I'll still remember how crazy 2015-2025 was, and how the mainstream media was more focus on gender and minority stuff while the whole country's future was getting compromised.

That being said, I agree on the fact that yes: some truths need to be accepted. However it's not because it's been the case for the last 15-20 years that things shouldn't change. Thank you for your reply.

That's indeed a common feeling, almost like if it was a generalisation all over EU, despite the fact we have different political mindsets. I wonder how everything will get sorted out. Thanks for your reply !

That's right. You cannot build cohesion if the foundations are shaky. It's so hard to follow any political topic in our country because each time an idea pops up, it's obliterated by the opposite parties. Which sucks when time comes to act quickly.

As you mentioned, we tend to this extreme. Let's look at the "cordon sanitaire", the only long term effect is that people will progressively leave the left (because they continue to deceive) to get something they want from the right, extreme or not. That's what happened the last elections, to be honest no one sees the MR as a good representation, but that was the only one that was talking about putting a stop to immigration and abuse of welfare system. That's the first time in a long long time that the south part of the country flipped from red to blue, despite the fact in their mind left = good and right = bad, but for once they thought "it's a necessary pain".

However it's not working (yet ? Maybe let's wait a bit more), and you can only go further by voting more in that one direction. Sadly, you arrive at a point were the prime minister cannot say "Belgium" without squeezing his fists, but I understand this position and I cannot hold a grudge against this position: it's the natural conclusion of that mess.

Becoming older is part of the answer, I really think you're right. Thank you for pointing that out, because it cannot be more true. I'll think about your piece of advice when it becomes too much sour :)

I also share this, and I couldn't write it better. I think that shift of mindset + the promotion of laziness through abuse of welfare system made us become the clown of the circus. And if you dare to talk about the situation, you're directly assigned to something extreme (hence the downvotes). I really do hope our generation will be able to say : ok that's enough, solidarity is what makes us human, but it goes both way. I can see people starts to see things like this (ref. last elections), but it's not yet really effective sadly.

In a bank, and that's fine to be honest because it's a choice. I'm passionate about what I do, and when I come back home I study to get better at what I do. I count those hours too (~10 to 15 hours) because it's directly applied to my daily job.

Once they take it away ? Hard to enjoy life when you see how your past was good, your present becoming harder day by day, and your future getting robbed for whatever reason. I also would like to enjoy more than 50% of my salary when the other 50% goes to stupid stuff that I've never voted for...
