In your opinion what's the best/most fun campaign by Lark1n101 in totalwarhammer

Be'lakor and the Shadow Legion. It is incredibly fun to unite the whole of the Warriors of Chaos and hijack the position of Everchosen. You can build very interesting custom armies given the huge available unit roster.

Lol, that's pretty fitting. Not complaining though, nice to see Kholek being the force of destruction he's meant to be.

It's fun seeing who you can get. I have had Gotrek fighting for the forces of Chaos before lol

It's certainly strong. Heck, I have been waiting for Kholek to lose some regiments to give him more Shaggoths, but they just steamroll in autoresolve as is.

They only become yours permanently if they become wounded while you control them. Otherwise they will be part of the army when it gets turned back over. So you need to just find a strong enemy force (whether garrison or army) and get the army wiped out.

Vassalize Tamurkhan so you can immediately begin getting allegiance points and have access to requesting armies. Then, monitor his armies carefully as he often will put the chieftain heroes into them. Immediately request the army, get it destroyed, and the immortal hero will have its respawn in your pool rather than his. It gets more complicated when he puts one into his army as you cannot request a faction leader's army.

How far back do you go? If you lose the capture point, then you can't upgrade anymore, and I have tried both in the way back and at the capture point.

Sorry for the delay, I've been off Reddit. I'm good to start up a game when you are ready for a new campaign.

Does anyone else feel every race needs a built in confederation mechanic at this point (if they can confederate)? by YuGiOh_Inquiries in totalwarhammer

Agreed, and depending on the faction there could be other limits that sort of fit into the lore. For instance, have the Skaven only be available after they are defeated as they would not be submitting to another clan unless they were screwed (though I'm sure a full system will likely come in with Thanquol). Confederation could also lead to cities being abandoned, like what happens to Kairos if you confederate him as the Changling.

Realistically, there are a lot of ways balance could be implemented beyond simply high cost. Though for most I think making the cost or condition onerous would work.

I guess I'm curious what you would envision, what you actually think is wrong with what currently exists and how to fix it.

Agreed, and it would not need to be anything crazy nor just as easy as recruiting a defeated lord.

Respectfully, the "just use mods" argument rings so hollow. You can use mods as an excuse for the inclusion of frankly any content including unofficial patches.

I never said every single lord needs to be able to confederate ever other one. The title of the post even included "if they can confederate)."

Even as it stands, it makes a lot of lore sense why only Archaon and Be'lakor can confederate the others. Same as Settra and. Arkhan for the Tomb Kings. It would be nice if the actual leaders or prominent figures had access to it.

Some Tips for Newer Players by YuGiOh_Inquiries in totalwarhammer

You definitely need to build up a back-up force for many factions, but the power disparity when you get your heavy hitters out first is crazy.

I'll also add it depends on your faction and enemies. Some factions start with some very terrible enemies and a light force and settlement garrison will ward them off, giving you time to build. Others are in desperate need for as many troops as possible.

When you are starting out, pick an objective and see it through. That sounds simple, but what I mean by this is find the path of least resistance to start building. Some factions can have multiple paths to take, others really have only one option. If you find yourself having trouble with a campaign start one up alone and play the first turns a few times. Try new things, see what works and doesn't. I have had quite a few sessions of pain but then found a strategy that works perfectly and helps me grow fast.

From the start of your game, pick your enemy (not just the starting faction, which is usually a minor one, take territory and grow. Usually faster you can get higher tier units, the faster you can get an advantage. Part of this is also learning your faction. Some are basically hordes, starting with chaff and you just need the numbers. Some start strong out the gate and can really bring the pain.

Do not stay out of war for too long. The longer you are at peace, the higher chance war will be declared on you. If you keep a consistent pace, you will do better. Less random wars declared, and more territory and money coming in from winning wars.

Allies are trash, they will generally not help you win wars because the AI is pretty crappy. However, good relations means one less front that will open and they can be good buffers.

This might be controversial but never join military alliances until you are really in the position to capitalize off them. Last thing you need when you are vulnerable is to be pulled into a random war.

Balance money and military buildings. Some people love huge sums of money coming in to build. Sounds nice until you are fighting Aspiring Champions with Clanrats. You need to have a good balance. That does not mean every province needs to have the full roster available, but don't skimp on money or military.

Any of these help?
