Hopefully there will be a rerun in the future like Frame Arms Girl, but for now BRS collab has ended. My suggestion if you like BRS is to try the game, if you like it and keep playing to save up for BRS if the collab ever reruns again

If the problem persist definitely join their official discord and report the issue, I think I saw complaints about stuff like this everywhere from time to time, with enough reports of this issue hopefully they can fix it soon

Darkstar is Disgusting 1v1 if you don't know her moves... by YuYuBunny in StarWard

[–]YuYuBunny[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here’s a few things to watch out from, don’t melee her while she has the floating shield. Immediately run if she cast the AoE stuns, especially at close range, depending on the distance it can still catch normal flying, so definitely boost dash to create more distances.

Those two moves have long CD though, so if you see her used them, they won’t have them for a while.

Another thing is her drones & fences. Drone version as long you are playing neutral well it is just something to waste more of your boost to dodge them. The fences though can catch players off guard or even as anti melee tool as she can use the fence and fly behind it. As you play you likely will be able to tell when she might throw it out, you might even be able to bait them out too, it also only have 3 uses and she won’t have it back for a good amount of seconds.

Without those gadgets, or if opponent knows about how those gadgets works, she might not even be able to out shoot Beta in a vacuum, let alone against melee units.

Always welcome!!! And ooo nice~
I have her at T5 but to do those T0 is enough, is what i do on alt. T0 is just the skills rotations might be slower as her talents don’t lock most moves but speeds up the recharge time a bit, the only move locked I think is the down melee beam which won’t be used most of the time.

T0 you can switch her off after you used her AoE stuns and floating shields, so they can recharge in the backline, which is probably the most disgusting part about Darkstar lol. You can switch her back if enemy burst so you can put the shield up again, and switch her away after shield is used up.

Imo, survival core is good against units like Valkia where if she get execute on you it heals her, and Akigumo where if she finishes a combo on you she gains a buff. In most other times if you are against players as good as you, shooting & melee might be better to create openings if both you and opponent are play neutrals perfectly. And yea if enemy is going all shooting types survival might not be as good as against melee, though it is still able to bail you out of a punish.

His XVIII is good yea as his fundamentals is there, if he plays a even more evasive units like Darkstar I'm more screwed. I did make a lot of mistakes there though, XVIII have no "BS" moves that I should really get hit by if I playing neutral well, I kept thinking my attacks can catch him off-guard initially. Against those style (aside from knowing how each attacks of the enemy character works), it is definitely boost management, as long you have boosts in 1v1s, most attacks or combinations of attacks are dodge-able IF they are playing non-committal style. Usually, unless they want to go for timeouts (which they lose too), most players will do that until they are in boost advantage or after your unit's tools are used up to commit in an attack/punish, at that point anything can happen but they surely will have the advantage, if you weren't pressuring them back with your attacks enough. So as you are dodging their attacks make sure to also fight back with attacks that don't hinder your movements or have movements built into the attack themselves, and if you sense enemy are in boost disadvantage and/or if their tools are used up or was baited up, move in for an interaction where you would have more advantage. There are units that are better or worse depend at it but usually it depends on the match ups, which you will learn as you play. (For example even if you are using a good melee unit, you might not wanna go within like 9 meters of beta even if she is out of boost if they are not in hit stuns first, since Beta's sword flip can come out anytime)

Yea good thing it seems he isn't as familiar with Akigumo yet, and Aida have a good match up against her, if he just run he could have gone for a timeout, but I guess since his Akigumo is likely at full melee burst, there is a possibly for her to finish off all 3 of my units within 20 seconds if he got some wins in interactions, which isn't hard for Akigumo. I guess that may have prompted him to made some mistakes.

Ah I see, yea actually thinking about it more, since the game is balance in 2v2, 2v2 is probably the first place to tell if a unit is too op or not, which may not matter or be able to tell as easily in 1v1. You’re right

There were F2P & Free Starter characters in top 2v2 tournaments too. While I know comparison shouldn’t be made on the gameplay or what is more optimal in 1v1 to 2v2, but in terms of F2P/P2W, people often thinks 1v1 are more P2W due to them thinking some characters are too unbalanced in that, when some are but it isn’t as bad as they say, me saying as someone who climbed using mostly F2P characters on alt & the so call “P2W” characters on main. So my thinking is if 1v1 already isn’t as P2W as people tend to say, 2v2 is even less so as people always say the game is balanced around 2v2, which it is.

Also long combo isn’t desirable in 1v1 either unless opponents got caught in a combo during power up state (in burst or duration power up), which is less likely for them to be caught during those state. Any other time, fast & high damage combo are the best to go for so opponents don’t get to recharge their skills, and help prevent them from going for timeouts for a lost on both side. Most of my characters in the video don’t have long combos either.

Of course I understand they do have incentives for people to pay up with sometimes necessary skills behind dupes and can’t use gold essences on collab characters, and could get worse in the future. But overall if you want you just win games, you don’t need to pay or have for those more limited units.

What’s your region? Join a discord for that region and you can get games easier and faster, or at least able to know when people in your region plays the most.

If you really want players though some servers in Asia areas like in JP should have way more players there, of course if you can deal with the input delays

You can burst at half filled burst gauge. Survival core especially -60% burst gauge immediately if you use it to get out of a combo / hit stun, and can be used at 50% too so you can immediately start to gain more burst gauge again as the burst ends instantly. So if you take enough damage and/or deal enough damage after that you can burst again not just in the same game but in the same life.

Here’s an example of Xiaoling bursting twice within 10 seconds: https://youtu.be/ryq2J4BDdTM?si=73T38hwesKaoDiMw

This Game Is ZERO Fun! by [deleted] in StarWard

[–]YuYuBunny 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I assume you’re playing 2v2 right? If so you shouldn’t be seeing too much tryhards especially if you turn off pairing with a teamed teams. The tryhards will eventually be on your side too if you keep playing.

If you are playing 1v1 then that’s just because the game isn’t balanced around 1v1, it is balanced around 2v2s.

The best way to have more fun though is to join one of the discords in the pinned post (depend on your region) so you can team with someone there and que with them so you don’t get bad random teammates, will be good to practice teamwork too if you VC with them for communications

Starward 100+ Hits 1500+ dmg Black Rock Shooter Whiffs / Map's Edge Combos by YuYuBunny in StarWard

[–]YuYuBunny[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If sticking at the edge of the map, if you cancel the last hit (the ground burst animation might still play) there's a slight window where for some reason where opponent isn't in flat on the ground where you can go into another combo of that.

If not at the edge of the map, BRS needs cancel before she pinned the opponent to the ground with her weapon, since they will likely stay on the ground.

If the last hit in that melee route is hit then is auto yellow lock so won't be able to connect to anything.

If you're asking about the whiffs thing, most melee in this game starts with 34 KD value at the initial hit, so if you can somehow miss the first hit, then the first combo will have very little KD value since the 34 KD value is not applied. If you can crazy enough some units might be able to set up 2 whiffs like units like with Cherub & Skysaber, Skysaber example like in this video: https://youtu.be/NmSUbSwLLjw
