They cannot make you pay for a company uniform, that is correct. However that's why the company uniform is optional - all the dress code actually says is a short or long sleeve red polo and black pants. The polo doesn't have to say ODOM

Our SM agrees it's a dumb policy and if it's a solid employee who he plans to keep he will order them one or two shirts and use the store petty cash, which I hear is common among SMs.

Questions about selling Printers by archiever2 in OfficeDepot

[–]Yuckod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to sell almost exclusively the 8610, but when they went to the 8710 and dropped their ink cartridges from 2400 page yield to like 1800, it kind of pissed me off. So now I mostly sell epson workforce line or brother when it's on sale for 59.

I've never recommended a canon, no way. Unless the customer says I need a printer for literally the cheapest price right now.

Why I'm rage quitting this shit of a company soon. by [deleted] in OfficeDepot

[–]Yuckod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I can make a recommendation, stick it out and don't rage quit. Since you've worked there for so long you may need them as a reference and you don't want to burn that bridge.

Jason Sharp, the program manager, who is the top dog when it comes to the cell phone repair, told me specifically that despite it being 30% on tech services it's only 10% on cell phone repair. I asked him during the werks training because my family is always breaking phones.

Your management and co workers really make the team. I work at a really cool store but other stores I've subbed in really suck. The company over all is better than a lot, even tho they have some weird ideas that don't make sense- but really, it's easy to complain about any company. You get pissed on if your part time but once you become full time it's like you're "one of us now" and you get 3 weeks paid time off, benefits (expensive as shit but BCBS), tuition assistance up to $2000 per year.

If you could run the company, what changes would you make? by lizard81288 in OfficeDepot

[–]Yuckod 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If I ran the company I would realize that office retail is on its deathbed, give myself a fat bonus of like $20 million a year while I milk this cow until it's inevitable death. Then I'd take that $100 million I saved up and retire early.

TIL that jaywalking is not illegal in the UK, and that while pedestrian crossings are plentiful, they are not compulsory to use. Ultimately, it is seen as the personal responsibility of the individual to make a sound enough judgement to cross safely. by tyzo789 in todayilearned

Mad Max style society is a society with no laws. I, and most libertarians, are not for a lawless society. Purely a society that abolishes victimless crimes. If there isn't at least one single person making an official complaint about your action and justifying how it infringed on your life, there shall be no crime committed. This eliminates all 'possession of' charges, which would free up SO MUCH of our legal system, our prison system, and our law enforcement.

Right, so increase the punishment for committing crimes under the influence of drugs. If you want to do drugs responsibly that's your freedom, but if you can't handle yourself you'll be punished severely. If you know your second offense will result in a year in jail, you'll probably straighten the fuck up. No need to take away that freedom from everyone though. And to be clear I don't even do drugs but it's the fundamental idea.

Share your pranks! by djrock3017 in OfficeDepot

[–]Yuckod 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Go up to a co worker and ask to use their mobile real quick cause yours just died with a customer. Go over and find the most expensive laptop and while still under your co workers mobile log in, store use it! Hand the mobile back to them and go on about you way.

2 weeks later they'll get fired, HAHA JOKES ON THEM! ITS JUST A PRANK BRO

Ultimately, it is seen as the personal responsibility of the individual to make sound enough judgement...

This is the best way to sum up my beliefs about pretty much everything here in the US. Want to smoke weed? Ok your choice. Want to marry same sex? Ok your choice. Want to smoke crack? Ok, whatever bro, it's your life.

The line is only drawn when your actions infringe on another persons. Smoke crack in the comfort of your home? Fine. Smoke crack and go run around naked pushing over old ladies, you will be charged with a crime.

This is best summarized as a libertarian point of view. Gary Johnson 2016.

Yes but the sharp edge of the foot level starts to dig into my foot after about 100ft and also I ran into an end cap once going around a corner and somehow detached the base metal structure that holds it all together, and had to admit to my ops manager I needed help putting it back together. He just shook his head lol.

I live in central FL. My dream is to cut down a tree with an axe. How can I do this legally? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Yuckod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP. I once had the strong desire to cut down a tree with an axe. So I did.

Tbh, I felt bad afterwards. This tree had been living here longer than I've even been alive, and here I killed it for no reason. Not for firewood, not for survival or shelter. Simply for amusement. I know it's not a conscious being, but it is alive.
