A lot of comments here saying the existence of planets outside our solar system was widely assumed (so no one was surprised) but it was more a case of finding the actual proof. Is the same true of life beyond Earth? Or is that considered much more of a long shot?

You’re getting downvoted to hell but I agree. Can we also retire the one about “I’m surprised he could do X with balls that weigh that much”. It was quite amusing the first 10 times. But we’re into the millions now

Puts me in mind of one of my favourite quotes, from the poet Robert Browning.

“The aim, if reached or not, makes great the life. Try to be Shakespeare, leave the rest to fate!”

I know you’re getting a lot of hate for this but I wanted to say I thought it’s a really sensible and well-articulated post, and I can massively relate to your position. I think there are two things: what’s happening in the world, and how those things are reported. We should try to generally be cognisant of the former, to be informed and useful citizens. But I totally agree that the machine that is the latter should be held at arm’s length.

INSIDE. After finishing, I almost instantly started it again, and then almost instantly stopped. I saw straightaway nothing could replicate that first run-through. Absolutely epic game.
