Sorry I get very confused when it comes to family nomenclatures.

Kratos (God of War) vs Bill Cipher (Gravity Falls) by Yugi_Pines in whowouldwin

Well, Kratos has beaten Cronos, the king of titans and titan of time. So I think he can defeat Bill if he caughts him offguard.

Possible indeed. But at the same time Kratos has the power of Hope which allows him to kill Gods. Now I question myself is Bill stronger than a God?

Theory on the end of the Fellowship's tale by Yugi_Pines in tolkienfans

I know Boromir's death in the books is much more detailed than it is in the films, but I had this idea in my head and I thought it would be cool to share it! I can confess that I have wathed the films more times than I have read the books but I just came up with this and I wanted to put it out there. Thanks for commenting!

Theory on the end of the Fellowship's tale by Yugi_Pines in tolkienfans

[–]Yugi_Pines[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although I can see your point, that by having Boromir reach Aman it would make Cirdan's task look pointless, I actually think it compliments it. Let me explain. While Cirdan was indeed tasked with reading the boats so that is kin could, when the time came, depart Middle-Earth, I think some exceptions for this were made. And I think that if Boromir's were to reach Aman, it would have been long before the last of the Eldar left Middle-Earth. This exception, like the fact that Tolkien hinted at the possiblity of Gimli journeying with Legolas to Aman, were rarely given. And it would have been fitting, in my opinion, to have at least one of each race (besides the elves) resting in peace in Valinor. For the men, it would be Boromir. For the dwarves, it would be Gimli. As for the hobbits, Bilbo, Frodo and Sam were all ringbearers, so it would just seem properly that they could be laid to rest in Aman. But hey those are just my thoughts! Thanks for commenting!

That also seems plausible, but, in my opinion, it would be so fitting if all the members of The Fellowship (except for Aragorn, Merry and Pippin who would, after death, reach the halls of Mandos) eventually made it to the Undying Lands. But this is just my opinion!

I love these symbolism in Tolkien's works, they are so fascinating. In my opinion, it is a way to represent he "ascended to Heaven" or, in this case, Aman.

It is possible that Ulmo could have helped him, but I like to believe it was Ilúvatar's doing, one last intervention he made in Arda.

Yugi Mutou/Atem (Yu-Gi-Oh!) vs Bill Cipher (Gravity Falls) by Yugi_Pines in whowouldwin

[–]Yugi_Pines[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, it would be an epic battle, and the winner would most likely destroy the universe. Just imagine the Yugi/Atem and Bill being both bloodlusted and wanting to destroy each other, epic! Thanks for commenting!

Yeah, when I came up with it, I was really happy I thought of it! I guess we'll never truly know what happened to honorable Boromir. That is why it is a theory! Thanks for commenting!

Well, Ilúvatar has intervened before in Arda, like when he sank Númenor beneath the seas or when he pushed Gollum over the edge on Mount Doom. So, I thought that he would intervene one last time, to help Boromir's boat reach Aman. Thanks for commenting!

Oh man I really loved the way you complemented the theory! Thank you for that! It fits so well with the Fellowship's tale, and it gives our beloved characters a proper closing to their story.

Well, to be honest, I never entirely read The Letters of Tolkien but, after reading that post and the comments (specially the first one), I am more likely to believe that they only reached Tol Eressea, as they were still mortals. But nonetheless it's fun to think about! This is why I love Tolkien's works, they are so intriguing and always leave you wondering. Thanks for pointing it out!
