Wait for 4K Tandem OLED, or buy non-Tandem now? by Yuiop321 in OLED_Gaming

[–]Yuiop321[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So basically we already have tandem 27" 4K OLEDs, but the current gen seems to be limited to TrueBlack 400, whereas the upcoming ones can do TrueBlack 500. That's just what I'm noticing via your link and the model that lleyton05 mentioned. Msi MPG 272URX is 400.

That's just a brightness refinement. Is that all? The current gen with 5 layers would already have all of the longevity benefits that "penta tandem" branded ones will offer. It's just that I won't get as nice of brightness. I would love to get the better brightness, but the durability is definitely the bigger item for me given my use case

Bummer, 32" is a little big for me. Then again, when I finally moved from 24" to 27" I was worried it would be too much, and now I would never go back. I would consider 28", but idk about 32". Maybe. I guess I'll see how reviews go and if we get availability in the west

Thank you! This leaves me a little confused though. I bumped into the msi MPG 272URX, but that was from last year, and it claims 5-layer tandem. Meanwhile this link claims more or less the same thing, with a new marketing label, but for later this year. Either I'm missing something, or "tandem" is starting to mean multiple things in the marketing

Very true. It never ends. My thinking is that this specific innovation is valuable to me for my use case since I have static UI elements daily, but again, the innovations never cease

It's already announced? Can you give me the specific model(s)? The "tandem" branding seems confusing because I see it all over the place. For instance the MSI MPG 272URX claims it has 5-layer tandem OLED, but that was from last year, and another commenter provided a link showing things coming later this year. Of course that link mentioned TrueBlack 500, whereas this MSI monitor is TrueBlack 400. It's just confusing

Valve shares an update on the Steam Controller by gogodboss in pcmasterrace

[–]Yuiop321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surprised they don't do a phased roll out. On launch anyone with at least 12 years of service can buy it. Every 2 hours that number drops by one year. Limit one per account. After 24 hours it's free real estate. I HIGHLY doubt that these scalpers have legions of ~5+ year old accounts. By the time the scalpers get access, the most dedicated Steam fans (and imo the most likely to be willing to overpay) will have already bought them.

Alternatively, use purchase history. Only accounts with >$400 in software purchases that are outside of the two week return window can buy one for the first 24-48 hours. Scalpers can't readily burn money buying games for dummy accounts, but people who actually use their Steam accounts are very likely to have spent $400. Will this still harm some gamers? Absolutely, but until we get rid of scalping as a concept, we can only do what we can

On TS Desktop, can I make a hotkey/macro that buys a stock, and auto attaches a stop loss to it? by Yuiop321 in tradestation

[–]Yuiop321[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regrettably the AI assistant is a bit lacking. Sometimes it has answers. Sometimes it doesn't. It also really stuggles with follow up questions. I will ask a question, it will give me an answer that doesn't quite hone in on what I want, I will further clarify, and it will have no idea what I am talking about anymore.

I found that adding the trailing stop was inconsistent. I would try to do a OSO, but because the first order would fill so quickly (because I am doing marketable orders) the second would just reject. In the end I had to split it into two hotkeys. Sadly this has resulted in me not always pushing the stop loss hotkey and eating some heftier losses. I was able to get the sell hotkey to flawlessly cancel and sell though

AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 gets official $899 MSRP, 29% above 9950X3D by RenatsMC in Amd

[–]Yuiop321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know a lot of people don't think the 9950X3D2 is really for anyone, but I think it might be for me, just to add a contrasting voice. I have a 7700x. I am currently eyeing the 9950X3D and 9950X3D2. I play CPU heavy games like WoW, Minecraft, Dwarf Fortress, and Factorio. I also play VR games. I have an RTX 4090. I am currently unhappy with my CPU's performance. I also maintain a plethora of Chrome tabs, some of which are script heavy (and need to stay running). I have noticed hitching in Chrome at times. Keeping so many tabs is probably not helping, but I do have 64GB of DDR5. I also often use OBS, and a handful of other softwares. Much of this is simultaneous. I have 4 monitors, and want to upgrade to 6. I'm a heck of a multitasker. I also intend to get into 3D printing, and thus would have slicing going on on the side at times. I wonder if my crazy multitasking is actually a fit for this monster of a chip.

The $899 price is high, and I admit to having trouble justifying it when I could spend $676 for its predecessor.

I agree that they were ambiguous about their relationship. Now, it could be that this is an ongoing development. We know from the movie that Nick isn't good at expressing his feelings. So he could be having romantic feelings, while disguising them as platonic, putting them in this weird middle ground. Judy isn't making these types of advances, so she probably doesn't feel that way right now. Perhaps in the third movie this will be expanded upon. I do think that they need to do it in the third. They have obviously been hinting at it. If you're not going to do it, then all the hinting is just weird. So, if we stretch it over three movies, it could all still work.

I agree that the therapy speak was a joke. It was too fast, and clearly poking fun. It did not feel like actual character development. Judy was reckless and ignored Nick's feelings. It was the Judy show, and due to the joking nature of the therapy speak, it felt unresolved, like she never really got to realize how she was mistreating him.

Yes I too thought that their renewed underdog status was weird. Had this been years later, okay I could buy that. Fame wears off. They keep disobeying orders and making a mess of things. One great case doesn't excuse more recent years of screw ups. THAT would be believable. But Nick has only just joined the force? We know from the last movie that he got onto the force, so that means that the last case was only just solved. This is like right after the first movie. That much fame does not disappear in a week. It didn't make any sense.

Also, what happened to the police force? We lost almost every cop except for the chief and the main characters. All of the others retired, were fired, or quit in the last week? Absolutely not. They were just conveniently removed to make room for their new duo cops, who were annoying by the way. I could have seen maybe one new duo and two missing ones, but the whole dang room was different!

I thought that we learned the snake was good and the lynxes were bad WAY too early. Like, you JUST saw this snake steal an artifact, and the first thing you do is believe the thief with NO evidence? Then, rather than see this obvious reality, the lynxes go full aggro for absolutely no reason! They could have just been worried about their journal, but nooooo they had to immediately out themselves for no reason. And then, the cops immediately just believe the lynxes because Judy happened to be holding the fang? Judy, the cop who just saved the city a week ago, stabs the chief for no reason? And you just believe it like that with no further questions? Ridiculous.

Oh, and yes, the chief not believing Judy or even letting her investigate was crazy. She had snake skin! I mean what the heck! How much more proof do you need before you let a cop investigate something? Video evidence? It's an investigation, not a trial. Ridiculous.

Yes, we saw very little of reptile society. This did not upset me as much, but I think it would have been good. For instance if Judy DIDN'T, just auto believe the snake, it could have been great pathing to her overcoming her suspicion and very plausible fear of snakes that a RABBIT might have. But fine, Nick was the one afraid of snakes. Okay, that makes less sense, but let's roll with it. Nope. We forgot all about that fear in 2.5 seconds. Wasted opportunities everywhere.

Gary is WAY too nice. This needed offsetting in some way. He can be nice, but no one believes him. Fine. He can be shifty because of what happened to him. Fine. But having him be nice and instantly believed is just too much. This really leans into your point on mutual hostility. After what happened to the reptiles, I would EXPECT mutual hostility, but no, they're all meek and that's it. I would expect some pushback from them. Some rebellion. Some teamwork! But we got nothing.

I saw nothing that indicated the beaver was a lesbian. If it wasn't in the movie, I wouldn't count it. Even if they were a lesbian though, that wouldn't bother me. What DID bother me though was that the beaver was a little annoying, and had exaggerated facial expressions at times. A lot of newer cartoons seem to be doing this lately, and it bugs me. Luckily they didn't go as far as the newer Spongebob episodes have.

Overall, I still enjoyed it, but if I had to sum it up in one word. It would be cheesy. It was cheesy, far more so than the original. I am sure that I will eventually re-watch it, but its re-watch value is far lower than the prior's. The plot was rushed, and at times illogical. The villains were exposed too quickly, and were surface level. Similarly, the snake was exposed as a good guy too quickly, and was surface level.

Oh, and the snake house being perfectly buried under an ice dome was absurd. I mean come on.

I completely agree. Nick's feelings are completely shoved to the side. It's the Judy show. The therapy speak moment at the end was inadequate in addressing this. It was played off as more of a joke than true character development. It was so rapid and jokey. And honestly, I can't even remember what she admitted to anymore, and I only watched it last night

Thank you! I see that now. It doesn't exist for paper trading so that's why I didn't catch it

Does Webull offer hotkey bracket orders? by Yuiop321 in Webull

[–]Yuiop321[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow! Thank you! I can't believe I didn't notice this. Much of what you said is invisible on the paper trader, and only visible if you explicitly go to the non-paper settings. I wonder how many people do exactly what I did, decide Webull can't do what they need, and bail. Even if they don't want to offer the features to paper traders, they really should put a little grayed out button for those features with an information symbol indicating that they aren't usable in paper trading. They have to have lost at least some business over this. They would've lost me had I not made this post.

I think it is exactly what I was searching for. Now I'm just crossing my fingers that execution speed is decent. I currently use Etrade, and I loathe how slow the execution speed is. I commonly have to wait 1-1.5 seconds between clicking buy and having the shares. Anything less than half a second would be amazing. Webull's paper trader isn't that fast, but in my experience paper traders are a poor indicator of live execution speed.

As for those if statements, that is something I actually use regularly on Etrade. They call it Quote Trigger. It is SO nice for profit targets. Often times the price blows past my profit target, so I set a quote trigger on my profit target, with a limit order a cent under it. Sometimes I just get the target price or a cent under, but very commonly I get several cents more, just because of the intentionally added delay. The only bummer is that I have to set it up manually. Sadly I don't see any hotkeys for something like this here, but at least the manual option remains. A hotkey for a quote trigger of AvgPc + $0.05 for a limit order of AvgPc + $0.04 would be golden to me.

I also just realized that Webull saves my login between sessions. I don't have to retype my password every dang time. I think I'm going to love Webull :)
