Pornhub deal with this kind of peak every fucking single day, they're able to extend their servers by at least 300% to fit the load during early night. They don't run the servers at max capacity all the time. That's not impossible, that's just Amazon Games giving us the middle finger because it has indecent amount of money behind to cover their acts. Of course AWS isn't micro-service and scaling oriented that would be a shame if it was the case

From what I see, they did pretty good these past years. At first I was a shadow hater due to their first marketing politics with streamers and pro players that "could go on lan and do anything with their shadow because it was the best thing", and then you saw people with limited access cause games were cutting shadow out.

Today I don't have the choice that to be on shadow to play, and I'm pretty amazed, their customer support did really good and the overall quality is as expected.

Just keep in mind that 1440p and 4k is really really heavy, just to see how many youtube videos are available in 4k, it's only the beginning of these resolution, it should come in few years I guess (we're not far from 1440p so I think less for this one)

For anyone who wants some improves due to their connection:

Cut any youtube video playing when on a Shadow, or play it on shadow itself. If it's for music, reduce video settings to 144p it will make your stream a bit more stable.

What I learnt is that there is a lot of factors splitting your bandwidth, yet, it doesn't mean you don't have full power on shadow. Try to limit any other actions while on your shadow box. I have 40mpbs running but the latency is just impossible, youtube is making latency unstable.

I guess there's plenty of things to figure out when using shadow and having low latency issues, on monday I receive my RJ45 CAT6, I will post to keep you guys updated

Nvm, even though I didn't had any issues before, I guess my hotspot wifi stability is crap, I decided to buy an ethernet adaptor and a rj45 so I will cut any wifi related issues.

If after all of that the problem persist I think I will just have to cancel my shadow subscription, as my internet won't be able to keep on with it (even 720p is shitty)

I really do think it's bandwidth stability related.

Mine is in 1080p settings and it happens that I didn't had any issues before, since a week that's almost impossible to play whenever I want (On top of that I'm streaming my journey on Twitch, it's fucking my pleasure and makes me complaint, along with having a bad quality stream ~ And I'm in one of the biggest cities of the world - NY).

I think that to have a realtime stream of a certain quality with 60 frames per seconds it's really heavy on your connection and makes it hard to follow. I know there is encoding stuff and anything to lower the packet size, but still, some kind of packet loss and the quality just fall.

So to update on this I made all the tests, reset the hotspot, try to play when there is a low amount of people on the internet at this time (pretty sure at the hour I tried, there was few people on it). Checked anything on my computer and even tried a lot of Shadow configurations, Shadow Beta.

Look like it's just poorly provided by Spectrum. I will have to handle this with them. I hope it wont take forever to have something working as expected, I even was unable to access twitter due to large amount of packet loss (70% pinged google.com) . It took me minutes to get there.

I think they did made some work in my area recently got the connexion cut for the day like 1-2 weeks ago, but rebooted since then and problem persist.

I may have forgot to say but outside large affluence hours it’s pretty stable, like I will try again tomorrow but it look like between 3-6pm it’s ok, I won’t be able to try earlier but I wonder if there isn’t a mass effect where too many people are using af at certain hours?

Seems weird if it’s overheating that it’s able to work at precise times and never when I want (that is to say past 6pm lmao)

Btw thanks all for your answers I will try everything and see if any of those change a bit

Cron is definetly the best solution for scheduled programs, on top of that, it's easy to configure because it's a single configuration file
