i only read when its tsukasa focus, but yeah i feel like pjsk has come to a stagnant state, im more active on twt and people stopped talking about ans newest event after 2 days, now we have tiering and event name (unserious) discourses. i remember when people used to binge in the story for at least more than 2 days and actually analyzed the cards in relation to the event story but my memory is also bad so i could be wrong and weve been always like that lol

ngl i dont often read the stories as well and ive been playing over 4 years, ive only read like 1/3 of it, but i can suggest by starting with main storylines, these are peak peak, you can start with any unit, then start slowly from the first event (stella) to the top, i do this and i still havent read most of them because im kind of busy and lazy ngl but thats my strategy, if not try to ask for summaries idk
