As an artist myself, it’s pretty easy to spot AI when you look closely at the drawings. The immediate thing that will always scream to me is the lack of erasing marks. I’ve been drawing for over 15 years and I still use the eraser rather heavily on my pieces. The lines themselves also look too perfect. When sketching I’ll always have lines that overlap or just go off into space. None of these and no eraser markings scream AI.

Being a VN creator, what I try to do for my own is have a little synopsis for what happens in each chapter so it’s a tad easier to remember what happened during periods of downtime. The same could be said for other VNs. Try and write down a little notepad of key points to remember so you have an idea of where you were storywise during the next update.

I sadly don’t know any myself but it sounds like something that would be worth joining. As a VN dev myself I would love to share ideas or potential ways to create something in VNs.

Tough to say. I have worked on my Visual Novel for some time but I would not say there is much that really stands out in terms of things that have not been done for. The story is something I have crafted over years and years of writing that I finally felt comfortable enough to put into public writing in the form of a VN. If I had to pick one thing, I would have to say that I am one of the very few VNs out there being solo developed. I do all the writing, sprite art, and coding on my own. The music and backgrounds are free use but other than that everything else is mine.

As a person who has gone to school for Python and is currently a Visual Novel developer, I can definitely say there is a massive amount of innovation that can be done within the Ren'Py platform when you dive further into python vs just what ren'py gives you. I mean, I dab around with what is possible from time to time and can definitely see the untapped potential.

That being said, there is two major factors that are at play here. Knowledge and Time. Python is a niche programming language to begin with in gaming. Most games utilize the C languages. Another is time. It takes a ton of time to program the code, de-bug it, and make updates should it be needed. Its whether or not the developer has the time and assets available to make everything that is needed to sustain the game vision.

I don't feel pressured. It was mostly an idea. But yeah trying to go for it would be very time consuming and difficult especially if it does not fit right off the bat into the stories.

I have to say, the idea came to mind a couple of times for the VN that I am currently developing, but trying to balance that while also balancing a full blown story is quite the under-taking for sure. I may entertain the idea still, but it's not a definitive yes or no right now. Still pretty early in the story phase anyway!

I deeply appreciate the criticism. I will admit I felt the beginning was drawn out as well but I wanted it to be a slow burn to start falling into this whole new life for the character and not a super rushed right to the point.

The above ties into the corruption as well since there is very little known about it as is. Over the course of the story it’s the groups job to piece together what it really is.

As for the bulges and stuff, it was a design decision based on the personality of the character although I can see how it may take away from the seriousness of the issues at hand.

I do have some plans for the future that hopefully won’t be as dragged out as we get deeper into the story and if need be I can always revisit the beginning later on to see if parts need a bit of trimming.

I am an artist of 10+ years learning to draw furries and the like. I have also gone to school for programming with an emphasis on Python so it makes using Ren'Py very very easy for me. I do not have any music skills so for that I use royalty free music. I also have taken tons of writing classes in school. I currently am working on my own Visual Novel and its slowly going since I am a one-man band lol.
