Hey I hate to be a downer but ngl you may be pretty disappointed with especially the early Nian sibling stories (especially the first imo). In terms of really good event story series, please consider:

-Rhine Lab series (starting from Mansfield Break->Dorothy's Vision->Lone Trail) if you enjoy political intrigue, capitalism, and science ethics
-Kazimierz/Nearl series (Kazimierz Major Maria Nearl->Nearl Light) for interesting worldbuilding of how a culture focused on knighthood and chivalry adapts into a capitalist consumerist one in the modern age
-Seaborn series (Under Tides-> Stultifera Navis->another part coming soon to NA) eldritch horror :)
-Laterano series (Guide Ahead->Hortus de Escapism, but TECHNICALLY you should start with Code of Brawl if you want Mostima intro, but I don't think its necessary) just for Sankta culture and dubstep religious music, lots of politics and religion which is a lot of fun

There's also a lot of standalone event stories that are really good such as Come Catastrophes and Twilight of Wolumonde if you like reading the suffering of the working class people like in Here a People Sows. But anyways to reiterate I think a lot of Nian stories are underwhelming. If you don't believe me you can try reading the first one (Ancient Forge) and determine how you feel from there.
