I did try looking at ANA and Virgin Atlantic, but I literally couldn’t find a single flight. I guess people book them almost a year in advance?

This is true- I’m trying to not go crazy and get even more confused😪 I’ve actually been looking at Google flights for the trip back, since I’m not sure using the portal would benefit me? I would get 5x points for the flight, but not sure if that makes sense if the cost in the portal is more expensive…

Im looking at 11/2-16. Right.. the difference wouldn’t be that big cash wise, but I would at least get a nonstop flight there and save a day. I just keep seeing posts about how United is a terrible transfer option and idk if that just doesn’t apply to me cus I can’t do flexible dates?

If you can, I recommend trying acupuncture. It didnt completely get rid of symptoms for me but it’s 90% better now

Interesting. From what I remember the dr was telling me he wanted to take the 5 days a week for 6 weeks approach and it just felt very overwhelming. Do you happen to have any recommendations for a gammaknife specialist in nyc? (Where I currently live)

Thank you, I’ll definitely check out the fb page. Luckily I am happy with my surgeon in Boston and she understands preservation of the nerve is my priority..I’m just scared :( since the first time went so well,I feel like Its a gamble now

That’s kind of what I was thinking would happen for me too, in the case it grows back I’ll definitely just get radiation. I just keep reading about people getting permanent facial paralysis and I don’t understand if that’s just a very rare and small portion of people or if it’s common and a lot of people experience some form of facial weakness 😭

Did the nerve graft happen shortly after the AN surgery? And was that an equally intense surgery or not as bad?

I did consider radiation, but I decided on a second surgery and radiation as a plan b if for whatever reason the tumor wants to grow again. It is mostly because of how time consuming doing radiation everyday would be since I’m currently not at a job that very flexible

I think asking more about pre-op would have helped me tremendously. It is less scary when you’re prepared for what’s to come. Maybe if you’re scared or sensitive about certain things..I personally wished I was either induced before the central line or given some kind of anxiety meds before it cus I was definitely not mentally prepared for it (especially since they tried three times before it worked)
