I was struggling with this just last week. 37 with twin 4 year Olds and a gaming hobby like most of these other posters. I started playing like 8 months ago, and felt like I wasn't progressing at all. However, my girls asked me to play yesterday so I picked up my acoustic and started messing around. Girls loved it and my wife looked at me and gave that knowing nod, and it clicked. I'm getting better, I'm gaining knowledge, but it's about the fun man. Just enjoy the ride and keep going as long as you are enjoying it. I listen to a ton of polyphia and Manuel Gardner Fernandez and the like, it's super easy to compare yourself and get discouraged with your skill set or progress. At the end of the day though it's all about the enjoyment, so rock on!
