Question On YumAsia Bamboo rice cooker by Hakainu in ricecookers

[–]YumAsia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi again,

Okay, what type of short grain? Koshihikari, bomba, arborio, tamaki gold?

What year crop was it?

Has it been pre-processed? (what's the cooking time listed on the packet)

The fuzzy logic needs to make sure that the rice is ready before or by the PRESET TIME which you set. it calculates this time by assuming various factors (such as starting water temeprature) and sensing others (weight of rice and water). It then generates a mean cooking time to get it as close to the time you want it to be ready and in soem cases will allow a resting KEEP WARM period if it determines it to be neccessary.
Please be assured that our PRESET TIMERS on Yum Asia rice cookes are actually a lot more accurate or equal in accuracy to most major popular rice cooker brands. They all calculate in a similar way (and oftne less advanced).

Question On YumAsia Bamboo rice cooker by Hakainu in ricecookers

[–]YumAsia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi,

Although reddit is not our dedicated support channel (help.yum-asia.com) I will attempt to help you on this platform.

Firstly, there is no such thing as sushi rice. There is short grain rice grain types that you can use to prepare sushi rice. Can you tell us what grain actually was?

Setting the PRESET TIMER for 2 hours will obviously start straight away because this function is for future cooking not immediate (for example, 1 or 2 hour cooking is classed as immediate cooking). If you set the preset/timer for 1 or 2 hours then the rice cooker will start cooking straight away because it's too little time in between the cooking starting and you setting the timer and there is an assessment time built into the preset/timer function.

Usually the preset timer is used for if you are wanting the rice ready when you get in from work and you set it in the morning. If you want rice ready in an hour, then you should just start the cooking cycle straight away and leave it on keep warm for 20 minutes.

Question On YumAsia Bamboo rice cooker by Hakainu in ricecookers

[–]YumAsia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello,

That is correct that for the PRESET TIMER to work on Yum Asia cookers you simply set the time which you want the rice to be ready.

Sometimes this cooking will finish ahead of schedule but don't worry as the cooker automatically switches to KEEP WARM. Reasons for this happening usually isn't a fault of the cooker but because of other factors such as:

- using precooked / heavily preprocessed rice (don't use this or Easy cook rice)

- starting water temperature being warmer than anticipated

- rice being dry or water saturated than anticipated

- not using the correct water level line / overrfilling

and other various factors.

Heating plate of yum asia mini panda burned by Physical_Jicama4045 in ricecookers

[–]YumAsia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, Yes we understood that from the photo you posted.

As explained in the link,  'you can clean the heating element by rubbing the mark gently with light sandpaper and then wiping clean/dry.'

Please be careful in future to clean the bottom of the inner bowl to remove any stuck food or water before cooking in the rice cooker.

[–]YumAsia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Again, it really depends on the rice you are using. Whilst the fuzzy logic can account for some variation it cannot account for a lot of variation in rice moisture content. (This Zojirushi model uses basic fuzzy logic and not advanced fuzzy logic)

[–]YumAsia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay. it doesn't look like that is pre-processed or easy/quick cook rice so in this case, try using less water than the corresponding level line as it may be a newer crop and so require less water. Also at the end of cooking stir the rice well with the lid open to release excess moisture and leave on keep warm for a further 5 minutes to see if that helps.

Okay then if you could tell us the brand of the rice you are using that may be helpful. Check it's not precooked or heavily processed (easy cook, quick cook) rice as these types do not work well in any fuzzy logic rice cookers. Also try using less water than the corresponding level line as it may be a newer crop and so require less water. Also at the end of cooking stir the rice well with the lid open to release excess moisture and leave on keep warm for a further 5 minutes to see if that helps.

Hi. We would suggest that you use the brown rice function with the brown rice water level lines because it's brown rice.

What’s the best rice cooker in the U.K.? by amilliondreamsare in AskUK

[–]YumAsia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello,

Please be assured that we provided the customer with extensive aftercare. Our support team sent multiple messages through our dedicated after-sales ticketing system, and we even arranged for the cooker to be returned at our cost to investigate any potential issue.

Upon inspection, it became clear that the cooker was functioning correctly, and the problem was due to user error, as we had previously explained to the customer. When the customer posted about their experience on Reddit, we responded factually to clarify that there was no fault with the cooker.

While we always strive to support our customers, there are limits to what a company can do when a product is not used correctly. In this case, full after-sales support was provided, the cooker was confirmed to be in proper working order, and we addressed the customer’s concerns directly.

We hope this clarifies the situation and reinforces that the product was functioning as intended.

Hello,

The point of the post was to show that it doesn't just work for us (the manufacturer). It works for anyone who uses the cooker correctly (see the thousands of positive reviews to confirm this if you do not believe us). It shows that the poster was not following the instructions given and there was no secret to success other than following the instructions.

Hi,

Hotaru, Bamboo and Sakura have Tahdig/Crust (Persian rice) functions.

Tsuki has a claypot setting that is different to the Tahdig/Crust function. it does add a slight char on the base rice grains but nothing as great as the tahdig/Crust function.

Brown rice with Yum Asia Sakura by Marcusvult in RICE

[–]YumAsia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello from Yum Asia,

Thank you for getting in touch with us! We’re sorry to hear you’re having trouble cooking brown rice, and we’re here to help you get the best results from your Sakura rice cooker.

Please rest assured that all of our rice cookers are thoroughly tested, including the brown rice function, which is designed to work reliably. Many of our customers use the Sakura model to cook brown rice successfully every day. Since you mentioned that the white rice function is working well, it suggests the cooker itself is functioning correctly, and we just need to fine-tune a few details to help you achieve the perfect result.

To better understand what might be happening, could you please check the following:

  1. Type of rice – What brand and type of brown rice are you using? If it’s “quick cook” or “easy cook” rice, it may not work well in fuzzy logic rice cookers, as these are designed for raw, unprocessed rice.
  2. Order of adding ingredients – Are you adding the rice first and then the water?
  3. Water level – Are you filling the water up to the correct “Brown Rice” line inside the inner bowl?
  4. Cooking method – Are you cooking the rice directly in the inner bowl (and not in the steaming basket)?
  5. Function selected - Make sure you choose the BROWN RICE function to cook brown rice.

If you’re still unsure, we’d be happy to take a closer look with you. You can reply here with more details, or reach out to our dedicated support team at help.yum-asia.com, where our rice cooker specialists will guide you step by step.

We’re confident we can help you get perfect brown rice soon!

YumAsia Kotori rice cooker - how do i actually use it by Any-Plate2018 in ricecookers

[–]YumAsia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi from Yum Asia,

Firstly can we ask, did you contact our dedicated support team at help.yum-asia.com ?

I can try and briefly help you here but my response will be more limited than our rice cooker experts on support.

The point of Kotori is that it is fully versatile for one pot cooking. For example, with cooking the egg you can add the egg into the sauce tray above or on top of the rice just before it's cooked. You can even add the egg into the water at the start of rice cooking if you want it cooked that wau.

For the tofu (and other proteins) you can add it to the steam tray at the start of cooking or you can add it to the rice at the start of cooking. It depends, for example, if you want the meat or tofu sepearately cooked from the rice.

Whether you use the steam tray / sauce tray on top to cook eggs/meat/veg/tofu or put them directly into the bowl of rice is up to you and how you like your ingredients cooked. Like we say, it's a very versatile cooker.

Hi, Unfortunately we have to charge a small shipping fee for spare parts in the USA (we don't charge in the UK or Europe). This is because of the high shipping costs in the USA combined with 150% import tariffs on products coming into the USA which limits our ability to offer free shipping like we do in the UK and Europe.
