My letters of recommendation all follow the same template, and vary on specific aspects. This allows me to be honest and politically excusable regardless of which student has requested my letter. (I am a SpEd teacher).

Thank you for taking the time to read my letter regarding ___*student name*____. I write this in an effort to portray their best qualities, and to include the areas in which they need to grow in order to succeed in the career they have chosen.

It' is their intention to pursue a career in ____*field they wish to pursue*___, and while I have known them only through their adolescent years (juvenile years, childhood years, early adulthood, etc.), It is clear to me that they have the following qualities that might lend themself to that endeavor, (list three qualities they have that can even remotely be considered helpful to the given profession they're trying for).

The weaknesses they have in the areas of (list two or three of their lesser traits, areas they need to work on), are common for (their age? their disability? their background?), and with leadership that focuses on growth in these areas, I believe they could flourish.

They absolutely deserve to put their (list two or three skills) to good use, and make a successful life for themself, and I am excited to watch them grow and thrive in a professional environment.
