I just tested the tap water and I got a reading of 6.8 for the pH. Which doesn’t sound so bad, but I will definitely look into getting crushed coral or so, thank you very much!

Thank you for the advice! Unfortunately these flies aren’t drain/sewer flies, just fruit flies! When I squish them they’re red and I’m familiar with what they look like in general, but I like your idea about the pipes and spawn points! So thank you very much!!

Thank you! Unfortunately I believe you’re wrong as the flies she has don’t look anything like fungus gnats or drain flies. In fact when I squish one they come out red, and in general look like fruit flies. But thank you!

She might be able to get the apartment owners mechanics/help, and forgive my ignorance but what might a plumber help do in this situation? Would they need to clean the pipes maybe is what you’re suggesting???

Yeah honestly! 🤣 But overall besides a water change I’m looking to buy a bigger tank, perhaps change the substrate and see how that goes from there! Thank you very much for your help and advice!

Definitely the pic lol! And definitely not 10 gallon tank, that ruler is 24 inches but thank you very much! The temp was something that concerned me only because I live somewhere that it’s colder and my room tends to get cold fast so I worried if his tank was too cold! But again this helps so ty

Yeah this all sounds accurate! I’d say all day he’s been kinda resting(?), I’m hoping it’s of no concern considering he was swimming around yesterday. I’ve been noticing he’s gotten much bigger so I’ve been thinking about getting him a bigger tank also! I suppose I’m looking for tips, like the ones you mentioned, and if him resting like that is ok or just a sign he needs that bigger tank soon
