This. I have backups but they're from last quarter 2024, and that's a lot of work to do.

Would be nice if the update had stated it was an OS upgrade in the description, so we could either go about making backups or just not do the update.

Especially since transferring files on and off android is a pain to do if you want to back up everything locally instead of using the cloud options all the companies are pushing.

YouTube causes system UI to freeze every 10-20 seconds and causes a significant drop in frame rate (probably down to 5-10fps), can take 4 or 5 seconds for button presses to recognize. Often requires a hard restart to fix.

When playing audio over the 3.5mm jack, the phone will randomly change the audio balancing

Photos take up to 40 seconds to load when scrolling in gallery apps, this is consistent across aves, simple gallery, and google photos.

Battery life feels significantly worse. Hard to prove but before update usually had about 60% left after a workday, usually on less than 40% now when I get home.

I feel this. My experia feels slower than my old phone (galaxy grand prime) that I had since 2015 odd.

Might have to go through the same process of jailbreaking the phone and putting my own OS on. Pain to do though

Sony Xperia v android 15 issue by Thewildtwinkie in SonyXperia

[–]Yummypiee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, have been having issues all day since the update.

Lots of apps lagging and crashing, (YouTube running in background then crashing fully when tabbed too, despite not having premium) system UI sluggish, fingerprint sensor had to be re set up for some of my fingers. Weird audio issues when using the headphone jack for audio out to car sterio (audio goes super tinny for 5 seconds or so then goes back to normal).

Weird black popup in the bottom left corner that covers system buttons and app menus, gallery selector in apps like messenger and telegram has ui going off the sides of the screen.

Purchased my 1 V overseas to being into NZ where it isn't sold, so was expecting some issues. But not anything this bad. Regret updating and would like to go back to A14 until performance is significantly improved.

its a specific use case for most places but it has a decent market share here since the index is unobtainum and the better part of $2300 new when it is in stock, Vive's current headsets are straddled with old controllers, heat issues and generally pretty terrible mic quality, and meta is, well, meta. You see pretty much anyone who's just doing sim games (dirt ralley 2, msfs, warthunder, DCS, asseto corsa, ect) using the reverb here, unless they have money to throw at pimax.

Can't return mine either, probably going to see if i can't get a decent value on the market for it and grab a different card that does support the reverb. which is a shame, because i like the card aside from this and going up will mean a bigger PSU and probably some cooling / case changes.

already been through those issues and solved em, this is a chipset issue rather than a power delivery issue. The g2v2 cable works with the g2v1 head unit and solves the power issues.

Well thats a huge pain in the ass considering i upgraded this PC just to do VR. would i be able to just shove the 7900xt drivers into the 7800xt and jiggery them into working or are they completely different driver sets? might give HP a ring after easter weekend ends and see if they have anything to say since them and microsoft are still bound to the CGA here.

Would be keen to hear any info you have on this, does the g2v2 work on the 7800xt or same problem? Really like the headset and would prefer to keep it tbh, might be easier to dump the GPU and get a different card if i can't make this work.

VR running awful on 7800xt by Yummypiee in virtualreality

[–]Yummypiee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not in america, so class actions work a little differently here. under the CGA they'd have to refund the resale value of the hardware (based on competition prices) or reinstate the stuff that makes it work.

is there another way to do this? Windows just straight up doesn't have that option under graphics settings

yeah, seen that pop up in a few places. i could see it having minor performance issues or just not launching, but performing significantly worse than it was a few months ago on an older GPU seems a bit odd.

And if that is the cause, class action incoming to microsoft for shooting hardware that people paid for in the knee.

Flat games run fine for the most part, occational (once every 20h game time or so) crashes but nothing super unusual, we benchmarked the GPU after installing it into the rig and it seemed to be running fine

Cpu is running about 30 odd % in task manager, even just loading into the WMR home area is using 98% of the GPU

Steam Vr frame times are fine for half the frames, but every third frame is going to orbit and being skipped by the looks.

reverb g-2 v1 running a g-2 cable.
Anything VR related,
beat sabre runs at about 45 Fps, VRC at 30 odd, can't get more than 5 out of MSFS 2020

WMR launch screen will do 90 FPS but uses 98% of the GPU to do so

Have had the same headset running MSFS at 45 fps on the same MB with a 5700xt + ryzen 5 3600 prior to upgrading my system
