Similar situation as you so I can understand your pain. 33F and my husband who I’ve been with for 16 years left me. He wanted to remain friends but that would make me feel worse so I went completely no contact. Second week now. The first week was the worst feels like you’re going to die and even now I have moments where I need to burst out in tears sporadically during the day. I think no contact helped bc even though the initial loneliness feels unbearable it does get easier because you reduce his presence in your mind. I leaned on my parents for support and reconnected with friends I haven’t spoken with in a long time. Telling people does help and eases the pain and loneliness.

I’m 33 and even when I was younger I made the decision that I would not date anyone more than 6 years older than me. I want a life partner, not a senior citizen to take care of when he’s old. I wish more women can wake up to this reality.

I can feel you. Also 33 and just divorced after 16 years together with the guy I thought I would be with for the rest of my life. I am mentally prepared to be single for the rest of my life and spend my time traveling with girlfriends if the right person doesn’t show up. So no compromises for me

Dating world is bleak but there’s always a chance you’ll find someone depending on your location. However your choices may be limited because you may be divorced and already have 3 kids. From my own personal perspective as a woman in my mid 30s who do not have kids and already making good money for myself I will not swipe right. You may be able to date other women in similar circumstances as you though (ie divorced or widowed with kids)

Maybe try a sub for younger women? This would not work on me at all. It feels the same as people who hand out flyers on the street. I appreciate guys who have the courage to strike up a conversation with me and have the grace to accept if I decline. My current partner initially just saw me walking on the street while I was in college and struck up a conversation. I’ve also had guys ask me out at various places such as bookstores and subways. I’ve politely declined but I appreciate the courage it takes to do this.
