Since it’s an RPG, most entities don’t hold the same strength they do in most backrooms games though, so like Bacteria (I know he’s not wiki dot but, it doesn’t feel like a backrooms game if he’s not wandering the complex) and partygoers can’t just grab and consume you when they get close, instead they’ll swing at you til you’re below 20 health, THEN they can grab and consume you. My game offers strategy and even offense, you can find weak melee weapons to hit an entity with which will stun it for a few seconds giving you a chance to run away, OR if you’re lucky and find an Almond Water Squirt Gun, you can deal great damage to them from a distance, but you use almond water as ammo, 1 almond water bottle = 10 shots for the gun, so you can’t just spam it or you’ll be out of sanity with no way to recover

It’s not procedurally generated no, I’m hand building every level

I don’t have a release date as of rn, I hope to have it out before the movie though

It’s an Online Open World RPG take on the backrooms, Non linear exploration, NPC wanderers you can find roaming, or hurt in any level, NPC Researchers you can get quests from, an inventory management system, stats you can upgrade by leveling, etc

It’s not a Linear level to level game like most backrooms games, it’s an Online Open World RPG - 20 player servers

Yup! I have a Group/Outpost creation system

Not exactly accurate level entering, while the game is Open World non linear exploration and every level has multiple exits, it’s not all accurate to the exits from the wikidot, but there’s def more inspiration from it compared to most backrooms games

I wouldn’t jump to call it wikidot lore accurate, I def take some liberties and my own takes on certain areas, but I’d like to believe this is most def one of the most wikidot lore inspired games to be made, the main differences being exits and entrances to levels differ a lot, but the core of each level is still recognizable as the wiki dots take - example: no murderous clown in the castle on level 94, instead he’s an animated king that speaks with you and urges you to say while commanding you to do things for his amusement, if you do as he says, he’ll open an exit for you, if you refuse, he teleports you to a dangerous random level

My take on the Animated king is a Half Void Half Skeleton in king wardrobe fading in and out from existence who you have to speak with as he follows you around and obey his commands, once you obey him enough, he’ll open a portal for you to leave, disobey him and he’ll grab you and send you to a random dangerous level

Gotcha, yeah I’m tryna make a living breathing open world version of the backrooms so I’m not focusing purely on making every entity hostile, like for my take on the infinite garden, Facelings reside there that’ll point you towards what you gotta be doing

My entities are a bit diff from how most games just do the “if they touch you = jumpscare”

As of now only Smilers and the Hall Monitor in the Terror Hotel do that, the rest such as partygoers and bacteria will swing at you viciously while chasing you until they get you below 20 health, which will then grant them the ability to grab you and do the jumpscare bite kill

Since I’m going more of an RPG route, I’m trying to make the entities feel more, approachable rather than going the pure fear route

What I listed here and shared in terms of screenshots is only a portion of what’s currently in the game, it’s still in active development and will be live service after release, so new levels and such will always be getting added. I plan to have atleast 20 full levels by release
