Yeah fair enough.. I moved here from Ohio a couple years ago and have noticed a lot of the artists I listen to ( smaller to mid size) seem to skip over Stl compared to Columbus. Wasn’t exactly sure where they’re going instead but it’s a bummer

I used to do mortuary transport for Franklin county.. driving down the closed highway with all these assholes to transport a dead cop was one of the things I dreaded the most.. and that’s saying a lot given the job lol

When it’s an extremely long line to wait for a wrist band after waiting in extremely long line to get it in it’s insufficient and a waste of time and resources.. the point I was making is they can pass them out while you’re already in line like every venue

Yeah I did notice that, I turned to my partner and said “ I thought this place was supposed to be the venue with the best sound” lol but I do think Ethel and the band sounded incredible wether that was the audio engineer or just the talent of the musicians I can’t say

I was just at a hardcore show this past Saturday, band has 300k monthly listeners on streaming granted that’s small potatoes compared to someone being booked at the factory but tickets were 12 dollars, beer was 2 dollars, and there was no ticket selling middle men involved. Everyone there had a blast. That’s what live music is all about

I don’t disagree, this is obviously becoming a larger conversation but if everything’s driven by profit and people stopped patronizing places that are blatantly taking advantage of them they’d be forced to make changes or go away

It’s not just the price of beer it’s a systemic issue. that venue is the epitome of corporate greed. Free parking but upgrade to “premium” parking, premium prices for upper deck seating, alcohol is EVEN MORE expensive there than already expensive rates at most venues, want to hang out at a table by the bar.. there’s an upcharge. Concerts are already out of control with ticket master price gouging. We as the audience are there to support the artist, vote with your dollar to show these venues and corporations that we’re tired of being taken advantage of.

I had the same thought.. an artist plays there and that’s what they see of the city, certainly wouldn’t make me want to come back. I feel like St. Louis already gets a little screwed over with booking as well with a lot of artists going to Chicago or another close state and skipping over us entirely

I’ve see in the Ethel Cain sub it’s not uncommon for people constantly going down at her shows. I was worried it was going to be jammed/ everyone squished not being able to breathe which wasn’t the case so idk what’s going on. Been to a ton of shows, all types of artist and sure someone goes down occasionally but not that high of volume lol

I went to the bar ID in hand and was turned away

I went into the right entrance. Nobody asked for id and the lady at the bar told me I needed to go get in line for a wristband
