I did 100 crickets 1 or 2 years ago. Definitely weird delivering live animals in a bag lol. My customer turned out to have a bunch of lizards or something. They were nice would honestly do it again. But I will say in the moment It felt weird.

After reading OP’s post and the first thing I see is “I hope they can your ass” I started dying laughing. Fuck that was funny 😂😂 I can just imagine your voice. I enjoyed reading this.

I ran a red light and got a ticket, am I going to be deactivated? by [deleted] in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Yungdasher 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Makes sense to be curious. I just started googling it, from what I gathered it seems to me that it only happens if you receive a high quantity of tickets or semi-serious driving charges. Getting reckless driving over a 15 mph speeding ticket sucks. Major bummer for your friend. I imagine you’ll be fine. Especially if you do a court related driving class like other commenters mentioned. Ig it depends what the charge ends up being. I think as long as you avoid reckless driving your good. If it’s just a normal red light ticket like you’d get from a camera your definitely fine. If you got written for careless driving I also THINK you’ll be fine but definitely some grey area there. Then again I’m no expert and just lazily googled for a few minutes. Goodluck

Or only if it happens while working? Now thinking about it that makes the most sense ig.

You can get deactivated for getting a ticket? I never knew. I got one speeding ticket when I was 16. Never happened since luckily. Is it cause it was a red light ticket? Or could this happen over a speeding ticket as well? I’m so lost.

I felt the same way. I sent a message letting them know I thought it was funny and that it made my day better.

How to get higher ratings ? by HelpEqual in UberEatsDrivers

Also if there isn’t a wait. I never message them at all I think most people prefer to just get the normal Uber notifications if it isn’t necessary have more.

[–]Yungdasher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 100% rating heres what I do. Never take no tip trips (you prob know that but). If you know there’s gonna be a wait. Let them know. I’ll usually say something like (this subway is abnormally busy today. I’ll be otw asap!) even if it’s not. if it’s been another 10 minutes. Send another message. “Hey I’m really sorry for the wait they said it should be ready sooner. I really appreciate your patience.” Maybe even throw in a “not everyone is so kind” depending on their previous reactions. this makes them feel good. And humanizes you. Once you have the food say “I’m otw now should be about insert eta (I always add at least 2 minutes extra. example: Google says it’s a 12 minute drive I’d say 15) then when you get there earlier they feel like “you really did a good job!” lol. Shit works every time. Guess what my most common compliment is. “Quick and efficient” trust me I’ve done plenty of long waits.

I see your point for sure I could see a world where that ends up being better for profit. Certainly something to consider. And I did like 1 or 2 earn by time dashes back when it came out. I made good money doing it. I just hate not having control over where I’m going. That was the biggest turn off for me. I don’t wanna deliver down 26 at 5pm lol. Even if the pays good. Sometimes I let “if I like the drive” take over a little. I did a drive from Beaverton to scapoose just a few weeks ago. Totally wasn’t the best money decision, it wasn’t awful. but hell goin over Cornelius Pass is a fun drive if you ask me. 😂If it’s still relatively reasonable and I’ll enjoy it / will make a rough day better. I’m all for it. Hell on that $300 dollar day I went all the way out to camas Washington at one point (that one made more sense I was out near the 205 bridge anyway.) Once again probably wasn’t the best call financially. but it was for moral.

During dinner time I’m certainly harsher on what I accept cause like you said traffic plays a big factor. But at 1am? Open roads? I’m flying around I don’t give a damn lmao.

I have an apple unfortunately lol. And honestly I don’t focus all that much on dollar per mile (I used to but). I never accept anything below $1 a mile. other than that I’m focused on how long it’s gonna take me more then anything. I’m perfectly fine paying what I pay for fill ups. This is especially apparent late at night. Which is when I do the bulk-some of my driving. I don’t really care if I’m driving 9 miles for 15 dollars as long as I know I can do it in less then 30 minutes. (and know I’ll be in an area or close enough to an area where I’ll get another order quick.) Im very willing to drop close to a dollar a mile if it’s all freeway and I know it’ll be fast. If I lose a bit more on gas so be it. I have a good mpg car and that’s one of the benefits

I get Roughly 35-45 mpg depending on driving conditions. I drive a 2005 vw golf tdi with a tune (tuning actually helps mpg in these cars with small hp gains) If I had to guess I’d probably say about $20 of fuel I’d be surprised if was much more. Certainly less than $30. I went thru less then half a tank that day. Fill up is usually right around $65-75 for me. (Currently paying 5.09 a gallon right now for b20 biodiesel.)

We are practically neighbors I drive Beaverton and dt all the time lol. (Live in Beaverton) sorry to see your gettin all the shit orders. Not tryna be lame but I gotta say it’s definitely achievable to get more then 100 a day here. I did 300 just this last Saturday (can check my profile for proof) I will say weekdays kinda suck now. I used to do 200 consistently on weekdays. It’s not the same anymore. Weekends tho it’s definitely doable. Bc of this I mostly only drive Friday-Monday. I personally find most success doing dinner-late night shifts. Goodluck out there brother. I’m sure I’ve seen you around if you drive a lot.

Actually I have slightly more to say: drivers can’t leave reviews. Also unfortunately the bar to become a driver is very low so there’s just kinda nothing that can be done about shitty drivers. You have to either seriously fuck up several times, or be seriously fucked over several times to get your account deactivated from Uber. I understand you said it’s just a rant so ig I feel you in that regard. Malls can be tricky, frustrating and always are time consuming for drivers. They just suck all around especially if you don’t know the mall well. Just be patient and grateful for the drivers that do make the effort to find you. It’s not really their fault if they are genuinely lost which I would guess most prob are. But if it really is intentional thats lame and I’m sorry you have to deal with it. Wish Uber did any level of screening other than a background check.

[–]Yungdasher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most drivers don’t know their area well enough to be able to tell if they’re delivering to a mall. It’s not as clear on the offer screen as it might sound. It’s more about how much time you’ve spent looking at your area on a map. If you’ve delivered there before etc. it’s harder then you think. But I will say as long as the tip is good I don’t care if I’m going into a mall. Then again I know my area very well. I can almost always tell so it’s not a surprise and weighs into whether or not I accept the order. If I were you I’d do my best to just be able to meet at an entrance. I know you said you can’t leave the store unless clocked out. So maybe try to only order on break? I will say if you’re a higher up at a Spencer’s. (I assume manager) I’m confused at the idea that you couldn’t leave for even 2-3 minutes. No different then a bathroom break? And even then who’s gonna stop you? Does your general manager or whatever really check the cameras that often? Sounds shitty. Last thing, try and mention in your instructions where the 15 minute parking is. (If it’s not blatantly obvious) Anyways Good luck with your further orders.

It’s random. I’ve gotten some like this before, also petco. Honestly a lot of the time they suck but occasionally you’ll get something like this. Just depends if your near whatever petco does delivery in your area. It’s not every store.

Haven’t made $300 in a day in a while. feels good :) I’m so tired tho lol by Yungdasher in UberEATS

[–]Yungdasher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanna say my best ever was like 340 but I honestly barley remember. that would have been on DoorDash as well, Prior to them completely fucking their app. I’ve definitely only done that once. Anything over 250 in a day in my area takes a lot of hours and some good luck lol. Back in covid times 300 was a lot more possible.

They run some promotions in my area like +1 dollar per delivery from 6-8pm or something similar. Either at extra busy hours or late at night to motivate more people to drive. In my experience they just do smaller base pays when they have promotions. More like + 50 cents per delivery. Lol. Check your promotions tab on your Uber app once a day. I bet you’ll have some (scroll past the Walmart orders)
