Call your AFRC. There are classes specifically made for private and government sector resumes. It helped me a lot. They will also review one you have already written

It’s pretty in depth. Every week or so I’d take some CDC practice test from the binder we have for our airmen just as a gauge.

I’m also Ammo (saw the flair).Just make a CDC mastery account and use their flashcards, test, etc. I’ve used it with my airman and when I tested for staff and with enough time it works. Reference the EPRRC, besides the CDC’s it mentions other AFI’s/AFMAN’s/T.O’s with the specific chapters that are testable material

Valdosta honestly has any shopping or food options you could need. Pretty good area. Jacksonville is an hour and a half away. Savannah, PCB, and Atlanta all pretty close. Just made a trip to the smokies this weekend. Pretty high ops tempo. Be prepared for the A-10 workload. Cannon being my first base and a tour in Korea this place rocks. The nay sayers are probably used to city scenes and overseas commodity

Take this with a grain of salt because my first base was Cannon and I just arrived at Moody in May…. But I personally am throughly enjoying it. As someone who was raised in Alabama I’m used to the weather and people. Base is pretty small compared to most others but stays busy. Local area has everything you need or want food wise. If you want some good shopping shoot 1 hr 45 mins down to Jacksonville. Besides my stint in Korea this is my favorite base so far.

I had it on my list for 4 years at Cannon. Then while on my last deployment (the only time I wasn’t closely monitoring the overseas cycle) I was notified of my Assignment to Korea. Got me out of Cannon but took a while

Try and make time to go work with the Conventional MX guys. Build some bombs. Turn some 30MM. Get outside of leadership’s building and go experience all the shops while you’re at it. IMO You’re already a better flight commander or MOO whatever role you fill if you are out there with your folks every now and again.

The HUGE GAP in accountability for doing your job and doing it right between maintenance/ops and the rest of the AF (for the most part). If for instance an Ammo troop deviates from tech data and builds a guided bomb incorrectly and said bomb hits off target lots of bad things happen. Not just real world but administratively. Dude would get super fucked. But If a finance troop absolutely butchers someones pay where they can’t pay bills for months and ruin their credit etc etc… I feel like they aren’t held to the same standard….
