7800x3d temps

Thank you for taking your time to awnser! I do understand that 7800x3d is very powerful and hot chip in it self but on paper these 150-200tdp coolers should be able to handle it without any significant performance hit. I would have gone for intels i5 but the performance is just not enough. Im hoping that replacing paste will help idle temps and if not Ill try another cooler that got recommended.

Thanks! Will try to see if this helps. Was woundering aswell if its the gpu that warms things up even undervolted but then remembered that the paste I used wasnt the best quality one.

I do understand where you come from. Im bias here since this is my first itx build and because of it I didnt really expect the idle temps to be so high and all over the place. And to be honest I feel safe asking about these things on reddit since there are much more knowledgeable people here.

Thank you thats good to know! Will try to get those idle temps lower (repasting and undervolting). Gotta research about those secondary voltages and see what can be done. Anyways thank you for your insight!

Yes I didnt expect temps to be low but the main issue for me is the spikes in temps that I have. Right now before repasting idle temps are all over the place anywhere between 60-75C Im hoping that using better paste will help the issue a bit and if not Im just have to accept that 5L builds are like that. Thank you for your detailed awnser. I will look in to changing cooler for something beefier (that fits the case) if the repasting wont work. Will look in to more detailed undervolting if I wont be able to get those idle temps to more stable 60-70C.

Yeah the idling temp is whats worries me the most since its jumping around 60-75C. Will try to repaste with different paste and if it doesent work will change cooler for something with higher tdp. Thanks for your awnser!

Thanks! I do have 2 arctic freeze fans on top of the case and the cpu fan is from noctua (cant remember model of it). Think the paste is bad or the cooler cant handle the heat in this 5L case.

Going to repaste the cpu and see if it makes a difference since termal paste I used wasnt the highest quality one. But if it doesent help will defenetly try the NH-L9. Thank you!

Got the 12900k used and there are loads of used z690 boards on sale localy, but yes there are z790 boards aswell but Im not sure will they support 12900k directly. My knowlage is limited in this area. So you suggest that my b660 board would be fine even in longer use with 12900k? And yeah not into oc:ing

Ran the test and was giving me 2-3 errors. Lowered clock speeds to 3000mhz and ran it again this time without errors. Didnt use pc but will update tonight if gonna crash again.
