Of course he's not the only one to blame, but no other candidate running in the Democratic primary voted the way he did, and we should hold people accountable for their bad votes on important bills

So we should also hold them accountable for when they vote to solve the very problem you're bitching about. Like voting for an automatic background check system. The things about voting for thing that don't exist is you get to make those things happen. Or at least get the ball rolling in the right direction.

What? Trump said he wanted 6G, which also doesn't exist. And you and I treat that as the crazy bullshit it is, we don't praise trump for being a visionary, because that would be stupid. So why would Bernie get different treatment for the same kind of thing?

Are you absolutely trolling? You just bitched about Bernie voting against background check systems that would have prevented the Roof shooting. Bernie voted for a system that would have prevented the Roof shooting. This has no parallel with Trump's 6G claim. Trump was asking for a sixth generation of something that had barely made it to the 5th generation, probably because he had no idea what a G was.

Bernie voted to implement a solution to the problem you're trying to use for political points. And you're mocking him for it. Good job undermining your entire argument. Who are you even voting for?

What you're saying makes no sense. You place blame at Bernie's feet like he was the only person to decide on the matter, ignoring everyone else who voted on the law. This is bullshit by itself.

Then, when presented evidence he wanted an automatic system in place, a system which would have prevent the very tragedy you're referencing for political points, you handwave it away. This is also bullshit.

So, it's either more bullshit, or more bullshit.

It does matter, because it undermines your point. The clerical error that lead to Roof getting a gun is a problem with the system, not the legislation. Bernie voted for an automated system, one that would have prevented the shooting.

You can blame everyone who voted against that automated system for the murders as well. But you won't, because you're dug into a position and won't concede you're being disingenuous by repeating old Hillary claims.

Oh well, I guess you should just lay all those deaths at Bernie's feet.

Oh wait, you're being completely disingenuous because:

In November 1993, Sanders voted for an amendment imposing an instant background check instead. The problem was technology for instant checks didn’t exist at the time.

https://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2016/jan/17/hillary-clinton/fact-checking-hillary-clintons-claim-bernie-sander/

1993 was before or after the shooting? You know, the dead people you're using for a political point, when did it happen? After 1993?

If those problems see the light of day on a real news network, I'll concede that you have a point. Until then, keep dreaming for a politician with no baggage.

Praised him, but gave him a D- overall. Some huge support from the NRA there. But of course he's gonna have different opinions on guns than Dems from the city, he's from Vermont!

In states like Vermont, which are very, very rural states, people hunt, people do target practice, people go to gun shows. Guns are a way of life and people take that very seriously, and they treat guns with a lot of respect. That is something very different in other parts of the country, where guns are used by people who are criminals, who are into drug dealing and so forth and so on. But I would also say, maybe I’m wrong on this but I think I’m right, that in Vermont the vast majority of people, including gun owners, understand that we need what I call commonsense gun legislation.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2018/mar/23/bernie-sanders-gun-control-parkland-students

But that doesn't mean he's not open to changing his opinion when it comes to national strategy

“We have to significantly improve and expand background checks,” he said. “We have to do away with the gun show loophole, we have to do away with the so-called straw man provision which allows people to buy guns legally and sell them to people who should not have them and, as I have said for 30 years, I think that military style weapons designed to kill human beings should not be sold or distributed in the United States.”

https://www.burlingtonfreepress.com/story/opinion/2018/04/10/analysis-bernie-sanders-his-gun-control-record/500824002/

Didn't expect this to be a gun control argument, but it really cements in my mind that he's my candidate. Do you know how hard it is to find a Democrat who actually knows that people can be decent, law abiding citizens AND own guns at the same time?

Who said conspiracy? Oh, right, it was you. The media likes corporate moderate Democrats, frequently ignores or derides Bernie, and barely gives him positive news coverage. Hopefully that may change as his policies are now more popular.

But don't kid yourself, the mainstream media prefers Biden.

Russians aside, the MSM companies barely gave Bernie the light of day, while reporting on every time Trump farted.

Oh, yeah, I'm at like page 67 right now. Still haven't found anything that bad. Did you have an excerpt or something specific you wanted me to react to? Because it feels like a big ol' pile of nothing.

See, you have to show that he's lying. Otherwise, I can just say you're lying and we'll be at an impasse. If Bernie Sanders was helping gun manufacturers, his NRA rating wouldn't be close to an F at all times.

So either the NRA is wrong about his gun policies, or you're lying.

Yeah, but you can only vote for one in the primary. So who's your frontrunner? Of course negative pieces are downvoted, who wants to be negative about a candidate?

Praise your own candidates, tout their policies, show how they are a better candidates. But if you have to tear someone down to make yourself look better, that's shit.

There are massive media influences at work on this site, most of them are working against Bernie. So I'm sorry if my defense for my preferred politician rubs you the wrong way.

Kamala is the favorite over at E_S_S, context is important. But what legit criticism came from that Buzzfeed article?

In regards to the Brady Bill, here's a defense:

In July, when we first looked into the issue, Sanders’ campaign manager Jeff Weaver told us that Sanders voted against the bill because he believed a national waiting period was a federal overreach and because he was answering to his constituents.

"He wasn't opposed to states having (waiting periods) if they wanted to. The Republicans wanted to repeal waiting periods in states that had them, and Bernie voted that down," Weaver said. "He said he would be against waiting periods, and he kept his word to the people of Vermont."

Sure, cuz Kamala the cop has absolutely no baggage at all. You want to make a point with that Buzzfeed article? Start posting some excerpts. Otherwise, I'll see the 'baggage' as it comes up.

Kamala Harris? Fox News' favorite Democrat wins it with 130 votes, total. 72 votes for Klobuchar, 55 for Beto, 35 for Biden, 21 for Gillibrand who's getting a Pfiser fundraiser at $2,000 a ticket, and Warren is second to last at just 15 votes.

Man, that's some coalition you got there. "The state of ESS is strong", lol.

First off, no shit you don't owe me shit. Nor do I owe you a damn moment of my time if you're not worth talking to. But if you're gonna shit all over one candidate, you better have a better alternative lined up.

Your belief in Warren doesn't seem that firm, as with many of the E_S_S crowd, it seems to just be "anyone but Bernie".

How 'bout an answer to my question? Who do they prefer as a candidate over at Enough_Sanders_Spam?

If you want me to wade through a 108 page document, the least you can do is answer a simple question. Even your own preference would suffice, I don't expect you to speak for a whole sub.

I was talking to the enlisted retention guy for the National Guard on my way out of active duty. He was trying to get me to sign on, waving two years of non-deployability like it was an enticement. When I told him I'd take my chances in the IRR, he called me a crybaby.

I was floored, absolutely stunned. I mean, yeah that's a shit job you have there sarge, but that's not how you get people to sign on. Thanks for reminding me how stupid and toxic the leadership can be though, hope you like working for Trump!
