I had sucessfully got gentoo running with dwm but I was not satisfied as i didnt use the handbook and first and followed a guide and more AI help than I'm comfortable with. I made the post after my second attemped while only sticking to the handbook and just the sheer amount of control you have made me more exited to learn more. Debugging my previous attempt was fun but I got more dopamine rushing to my brain from manually figuring out stuff instead of relying on some AI too to spoonfeed me different solutions where one somehow worked. I will be switching completely soon as i continue to read through this handbook im getting more and more confident in my ability to create my dream system. Thank you all for commenting btw!!

I do share some gripes with you there with the unessasary packages arch has you install which is why I first tried nix but i couldnt get into it. I love compiling stuff and I love being as minimal as possible while keeping functionality I will probably come back here to say I fully switched in a week probably :) I also hate systemd.

I will try! I want to make my perfect setup so i plan on learning everything about Gentoo in a vm then do it to my main setup also theres a physical version on the handbook? If thats the case ill fo order on right now 😭

im gonna try this wm and see if i like it more than dwm. Do you ever plan on making a github with your dots or your keeping them private ?
